  1. Definitely, the times article was pretty direct too. Do you recall that email from Broughton which was circulated around a few forums, it was after Rafa had been sacked where someone from TIA who had mailed him criticising the decision iIrc Broughton responded with "thats not what the press thought" or some similar rubbish. Well isnt it ironic that it may help us out now...
  2. Exactly, at the time we were all blaming him being with the England squad etc...both him and Carragher had nothing to say about Rafa when they came back
  3. Oh yes!! Roy has given new meaning to the term "Lone striker"...
  4. Maybe I am, but they were a mid table team who were struggling and therefore you dont expect them to be overly technical or brimming with ability. Therefore the system that he has employed for 35 years (which he is so keen to tell everyone at almost every opportunity) was something that brought rigidity and a solidness to there play. Just that alone meant an upturn in results, most importantly the expectations were lower and he found his level. For someone who has been managing for so long to have only one system is not good enough, it is abundantly clear that there is no plan b. People wonder why he doesnt make substitutions imo its because he simply doesnt know what to do, he looks lost in every game and thats because he doesnt understand why the system he is employing isnt working.
  5. Exactly, if we defended as a team it would be very different. Currently he is left isolated on too many occasions, we dont press which means our entire defence is under more pressure and they are being found out. Under Benitez the team hunted in packs, forcing errors and regaining posession we are not doing that under Roy. I agree he should do better but the system employed isnt helping him or the entire defence for that matter.
  6. At Fulham the players he had were suited to the type of football he likes to play, the system he has been using for 35 years and most importantly the expectations were low so that he had alot of time maybe tweak it slightly. Though i refuse to believe it changed much in his entire time at Fulham. As for Jose, to put it simply his system works and has been proven to work wherever he has been, yes he may have been found out by Rafa on more than one occasion (which just reaffirms the tactical class of Rafa) but he has always won things and not only that Jose was never scared to make changes if things werent working. Comparing Roy to Jose is like trying to compare Roy to Rafa there is only one winner and it isnt Roy. They are both on different planet when it comes to talent, Roy cant even compete
  7. Yes, playing a certain type of football which suited the players he had at Fulham. Part of being a good manager would be looking at the squad you have and playing a system that is compatible or suits the players, playing them to there strengths rather than trying to mold them into something that clearly isnt working.
  8. and lets not forget Mclaren (fair play to him for doing well in NL) who was pretty hopeless when it came to the England team also
  9. Pellegrini was mine, I didnt want the image of Kenny to be tarnished or for him to be seen as part of the problem. With the situation we face atm there can only be one solution, Kenny in until the club is sold.
  10. I think someone has hacked DH's account, i say a lifetime ban and lecture on internet security is in order
  11. It would appear not unfortunately, Roy still has a job....
  12. I can imagine it now...Roy picking up a copy and thinking this guy knows nothing compared to me...35 years....
  13. I hadnt heard that before - quite surprised tbh Yep and though he doesnt say it directly he is happier under Mark Hughes with his more "expansive" style
  14. Sure, but once they were off WC duty...I dont recall seeing anything from them about that he would be missed etc. Who knows it could all be rubbish but it is a bit strange
  15. Does appear believable, especially when you think about all the support Roy has been getting from both Gerrard and Carragher - did either one of them come out and say anything re Rafa?
  16. Fixed that for you, lets not do your son a disservice now
  17. *shudder*
  18. The most concerning bit of news i read was that Pepe "best goalkeeper on the planet" Reina was being asked to change his training techniques to be more english, it defies belief Must be something he has learnt in those 35 years
  19. I dont know if he has, but we all know the best position for both Poulsen and Konchesky is as far away from the team as possble - useless crap
  20. I agree, looking more and more likely that Hodgson didnt sign him...tbh it wouldnt matter if he used him correctly but playing him at RM...such a waste
  21. What a joke, says it all really....35 years...Fulham...standard nowadays
  22. Yep, after all he has been using the same tactics for 35 years with other teams and won feck all so why change now?
  23. And admit that he screwed up? No chance of Roy being sacked any time soom imo
  24. How about a new one entitled "When will he be sacked?"
