  1. I missed the game tonight (which is probably a good thing by all accounts ), but can i get a summary if possible, did we press, did we play on the counter, did we knock it long, was the striker isolated, limited service?
  2. Purslow speaks.... http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/video/News-and-Interviews/10-11/Purslow-answers-21192.php3
  3. The sad part is, we couldnt really afford to sack Rafa either...yet he was pushed out the door after one bad season.
  4. I agree, thats something that really annoyed me. At least have some backbone and stand up for yor players, especially Torres who seems to be getting it from all angles atm.
  5. TBH I dont care if Meireles was a Roy signing or not, for the sake of this argument lets say he was....what difference does it make? IMO it says that Roy has an eye for a good player (the less said about PFK the better) but it doesnt in any way make up for his tactical nievete or indicate to me that we are going to play high tempo, pressing football? The football doesnt need to be wengeresque type stuff but at least press the opposition. Time and time again on Sunday we let them play in front of us, ping it around and its been the same in every game so far. That is one trait that I have seen in every game, its not working and though it may have worked to reasonable effect with his previous club its not going to work with us.
  6. Yep i noticed that too, hmmm strange....so maybe all the rumours of CIC investing in Lpool were actually as a result of Hicks discussions with Blackstone?
  7. Currently my interpretation of Solidity is mid table mediocrity...
  8. Only english candidate, any ideas who the others were other than Pellegrini?
  9. I am not impressed with Roy, his tactical nievete, baffling substitutions, and some of the things he is saying or not as it maybe. I think what really annoyed me was his failure to defend Torres, I mean ffs...doesnt want to upset his best buddy Fergie. Of course Fergie doesnt care about it, will say whatever he likes...but not our Roy...
  10. Lets hope not, we all know its time for a change and the sooner these two cancers leave the better. DH, previously you indicated that you were getting some information from some of Huangs PR people (iirc) or a friend who was involved in the deal. With this recent post from Bamba who also appears to be getting information from a similar source....have you heard anything new? I know you got some stick for sharing previously but tbh any news is good news atm...
  11. What a joke, he feed off scraps and longballs the entire game due to an average manager, not being utilised correctly, I doubt he is fully fit either.
  12. TBH we are all annoyed, depressed, angry and as some have pointed out its mainly because of the ownership situation. We are tired of the crap, the lack of support for the manager, the lack of any statements coming out of the club its all doom atm... So we look to the pitch for a bit of positivity, something to make us smile and forget for a small time just how far as a club we have fallen...now we have the same standard both on and off the pitch. We can all see that something is wrong, something needs to change but we are powerless. We are directing all of this frustration at the manager, because in the past despite all the s*** we would normally (with the exception of last season) deliver on the pitch more often than not. Thats not happening atm, so there is no patience and yes maybe a few years ago I would have given a manager more time...but if I cant express my annoyance at tactics on a internet forum where can i? The problem with Roy is that I just dont think he's good enough, I was hoping to see something that would make me think different but I havent...I am not looking for us to start hammering teams 6-0 or to play "sexy football" b****x just play the type of football that wins us games. It was clear for everyone to see today that the system employed wasnt working, this it not a one off but has been the same in every game so far...surely a good manager could see this? The real question is does he have the ability to change it, or employ something else that works? Or will he keep on playing the same way...hoping that it works? Unfortunately I am going with the latter I want to be proved wrong, I want to have to eat these words in a few months...but so far I have seen nothing that indicates that i will be.
  13. I agree with this, when you remove all the Rafa this Roy that type statments it comes down to Roy just not being good enough, unless he goes through some transformation in the next 5-10 games.... Which after managing a certain way for a number of years I dont think very likely
  14. Errr it was tongue in cheek, it made me chuckle to myself thats all. I am not a fan but there was a in there for a reason... Jesus
  15. As far as i am concerned Roy can take all this free love, everyone holding hands and being friends hippy bulls*** and bugger off!
  16. Jaysus!! Can someone just stop him from talking after games?! He is not doing himself any favours with this s****.
  17. Well in Roy...thats right you show em...cant upset his best friend Fergie, actually I am sure the pair of them are probably sharing a bottle right now...
  18. Yep, Sky's continued attacks of Torres and his lack of interest, form etc really pissed me off. The reason he is off form is because he is getting no service, they obviously completely missed what happened when he got the ball in a couple of decent positions...
  19. Yes valid point re Rafa's and Ged's start...but it was the first time they were managing in the PL...cant really say the same thing for Roy, you can forgive people who have limited experience to the PL or have a good record but thats not really the case with Roy. He hasnt achieved anything of note, has a terrible away record and though its harsh has a history of being average and definitely not a world class manager.
  20. Though Rafa was 5 seasons in, whether true or not something was definitely not right about the team and there relationship with the manager last season. Though I hate the term, it did look like Rafa "had lost the dressing room". But now we have a new manager, normally you get some kind uplift in performances and results? Have we seen that? If anything our style of play has changed quite markably and its clearly not working, add to that his very baffling substitutions, its not about Rafa this and Roy that...its about Roy looking out of his depth and not being a good enough manager for Liverpool.
  21. He just sits there, head in hands looking totally lost most of the time. "Plan A not working....What to do....What to do....I know Plan A...." I know I should give him time, I know i am coming across like a total tosser, but just how long should he get? Every game has one key aspect, limited pressing/pressure and its just not working
  22. Yep
  23. Yep, it pains me to say and i feel incredibly knee jerk but i want him out, i just dont see it getting better
  24. Glenn Hoddle in talking sense shocker (for about 30 seconds anyways...) you could tell he didnt want to say it directly but said that Ol Roy did well with Fulham playing a certain style...then went on to say that he definitely cant play that way with Liverpool... Basically what we have all been saying since Roys tenure has started I dont see him changing anytime soon tbh
  25. Its just such a change from how we played them from recent seasons, we let them play, they came at us again and again. How many times did they almost score in the 1st half, i felt like they were going to score everytime they went forward. it was a terrible performance, we were outplayed for about 75-80 mins of the game, were slow and laboured in posession (for the exception of about 10 mins in the 2nd half).
