I dont think the Balo fee was actually that high, lots of performance and behavioural clauses, probably built into his wages too. Sakho - yes granted, doubt Lallana and Lovren are on big money. From recent seasons, may just be Benteke? 30+ mil (sob) and high wages, by LFC standards anyways.

Agree on the Gotze shouts, has looked poor, but he was / is one of Klopps key targets so we should have got it done. Its always the same with FSG, happy to pay high fees for young players with potential but not both (fees and wages) required for established ones.

Listening to the gutter show on TAW, re Gotze Si Hughes is saying that LFC had the opportunity to get it done prior to the Euros, but didn't want pay what either party wanted. So assuming we baulked at fee and wages. Standard FSG, Ayre etc So maybe all the stuff from Gotze was him trying to get us to pay up?

Thats weird, I am not his biggest fan either, but he has done well, his finishing could be better (as always) but he created opportunities. Maybe its the Rooney / Ali love in, who were terrible today.

Thought Lallana played really well, his subbing was odd, both Rooney and Ali deserved be hooked before him.

TBH I'm not too fussed, but we do have a great track record of screwing up transfers and have played the "player wants to join us" card so many times. It gives Ayre and co the belief that they can pay a reduced fee, which is fine until another team steps in and pays the asking price.

I dont know - I get the feeling that Klopp doesn't want to pay silly money for targets, he's got a bit of Wenger about him imo. FSG have their own issues of course i.e. not wanting to pay high fees & wages without potential for resale.

He's not exactly quick IIRC - but Rodgers didn't know how to use him, not sure if he's what we need. Never seen him as a dominant CM
