Agree, the worst unbeaten run ever and everyone else being crap is what's keeping him in a job. If we were playing better we would have a healthy buffer, tomorrow would mean little.

TBF to TAW I watched one of their pods the other day and one of the contributors was quite outspoken about Slot. I do think they can be a bit too positive at times but there was some balance in that particular conversation. I get that they try hard to be objective, but I expect at some point soon that's going to become quite difficult. Interestingly, I listen to The Athletic pod fairly often and there has definitely been a tone change, they've gone from talking about Slot needing time to stabilise to openly calling out just how bad we're playing (ie the lack of urgency, slow paced build up etc).

True, had forgotten all about him. But we all know what Chelsea are like...they currently have about 20* wingers. * That might be a slight exaggeration for the player stockpiling plastic w***ers.
-
He ticks lots of boxes, regardless of Palace wanting to be seen to play hardball over fee, they are going to lose him for nothing in a few months. He's a PL proven international, only 25 years old, potentially coming into his peak years as a defender. With the amounts they throw around, it could definitely happen, and that's before you consider the upcoming shift in tactical setup.

Thanks for sharing. I watched a good overview of Rosenior (sp?) tactical setup yesterday, there is a real emphasis on having a ball-playing central defender, someone who is not only comfortable in possession but also adept at distributing the ball, long and short passes. I can see Chelsea making a big move for him this window if City haven't already lined him up.

Only if you switch over to the game 5 mins after KO?

The same can also be said of Stephen Warnock, he loves a hot "must be controversial" take, anything that can be clipped up for the socials no doubt.

There be rumours...(from unreliable accounts) that Slot decided not to attend an academy showcase and that some youth players are stalling on contracts because they're concerned about the lack of pathway to the first team. (I'm ignoring the bit about the falling out between Hughes and Slot as that just sounds like click bait rubbish - I mean it probably all is, but thought it was interesting).
-
Agree, that's the only exception from what we know, I expect that was Slot or someone close to him who wanted that to be known. I shouldn't have used "very", but they're both rigid in their approach, that slow build-up and play has been a constant.
-
We jest, but they're actually very similar imo, there is a rigidity to how Slot wants us to play. Regarding the clip from Neil (TAW), though Edwards, Hughes and co deserve some of the criticism, in this particular moment, it looks like a way to deflect and or absolve Slot of any responsibility for the situation we're facing. I refuse to accept that he (Slot) wasn't part of the discussions re the ins / outs over the summer, we already know that he was a "key" component in signing Wirtz, and when combined with his limited use of the squad, I could see him sanctioning the sale of various youth players. As has been said, Edwards & Hughes aren't the ones who have us playing one-paced, risk-averse percentage football or setting us up to defend / attack set pieces. I am not going to deny that I have wanted a change of management for a little while, but that's only because it's clear he isn't turning this around. We're just delaying the inevitable, I expect that's because there are limited options, but he's actively dismantling what Klopp built and that damage will be harder to undo.

Re the Wirtz goal, apparently they showed the wrong freeze frame on replay, this is the correct one (from Reddit): -
Fletcher to take over on an interim basis, they might be a challenger for the CL places if they get someone competent. They have issues but have some decent attacking options.
-
Well Amorim has just been sacked, they might become a challenger for the CL places if they get someone competent.

Looked like he'd had some cupping done, quite often used to reduce stress and tension from certain muscle groups. -

He routinely vacates all the space in midfield with his ridiculous subs and game management. You think he might have adapted by now but nope... -

But at least our pass completion rate is high...is anyone actually surprised? We're doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome
