Bit of a mad story, but I had dinner with him and his assistant and my missus a few years ago. He’s a really lovely gentle person, not an archetypal rock and roller at all. My overall takeaway was he carries a lot of the world on his shoulders and genuinely cares about people and animals. I’m nearly 6’3 and he towered over me like a big sad Gandalf. He lit up when I mentioned buying Night at the Opera and a Day at the Races as kid, he was genuinely delighted. He wasn’t boring at all, and my wife hung out with him a few times. But he was like that kid at school that never said anything and ended up doing something creative or ran an animal sanctuary. His barnet is a bit mad though, will give you that.

He comes across really well in that video with Rafa and Sami, like he's matured a lot. Warmed to him in a way I haven't since he ruined my birthday the day he announced he wanted to go to Chelsea and I had to buy a washing machine. It was the first day of being middle aged.

I've said it before, but I don't think he's all that either. We've got a couple of years to try and find a replacement for Virge, I think he was back up in case Konate won't sign a deal. We still need a central defender though.

We didn’t try to sell Trent the summer before without telling him. McManaman is annoying but I can sort of understand how that must have felt and how you might think ‘f*** you then’. Owen is the closer to this. I’m bored of it all, and I’d never boo a player while playing, but after that celebration TAA did copying Bellingham, during a game, I can’t help feel like he’s got what he deserved here. I’d also bet he’s having a good hard look at himself today. If he’s as hard faced as he likes to pretend, it’ll spur him on when he goes to Madrid. I have a feeling it won’t be like that, and when he plays us next year he’s going to get a lot worse.

Course it is. Be good if it gets the rest of the stadium done though. That way they're not a completely useless band of soul suckers. They're a lot of things but they are capable money makers. The worry now is Rotherham and political class. Also greedy but not very capable of actually getting things done that make a difference.

Here's my theory. They're guilty (not a surprise), and the PL are now having to put together an agreement with all the other clubs impacted regarding compensation etc. That's probably 20+ clubs, including ones that were relegated they have to have a legal agreement with in order to stop an avalanche of legal action from multiple parties. I'm fine if it takes another 12 months if they get stripped of all titles, because it'd be not only just, but really f***ing funny.

Yeah that and the Arsenal TV gang. It's non stop today, almost feel sorry for them. They were always a bit annoying but he's brought out the worst in a lot of them.
