Being too young to remember that season properly and season reviews always quite rightly focusing on Hillsborough I've always wondered what happened to us in the first half of that season; how did the magnificent team of 87-88 make such a bad start to the following season?

We weren't crap, we may have been under souness but from 94-95 onwards we were always a top 4 team, similar to what we are at the moment in terms of our recent league positions, if he was around now he'd be one of the first names on rafa's teamsheet IMO

Beckham will be knighted, no doubt about i'm afraid. Some soft government will come in at some stage and to try and be seen as 'with it' will push for softlad to be knighted. The truth of the matter is, while he has been captain England have been to three championships and finished quarter finals every time and his own performances have been average at best. I think all this knighting business is rubbish but if he gets one why doesn't someone like lineker, he has captained his country, scored many goals, was in a team that got to the semi final and was golden boot winner at the '86 world cup. Softlad shouldn't get a knighthood but he will, of that i have no doubt.

for those who haven't got it buy the season review from 87-88, barnes was different class that seson, it also includes the 5-0 demolition of notts forest which is a bit special

you are so right in saying we're losing a generation of match going fans kev. I'm 24 and i'd say half my mates are red, the other half blue. Every blue has a season ticket and none of us have. I only know three fellas who have season tickets at anfield. All of them are over 60. I do my best to go to matches and with a full time job and other commitments it is alot of hassle getting tickets. I envy my blue mates who just go and and renew there season ticket and they're sorted for the season.

If you were going to build a cinema and you predicted that for an average friday/saturday night you'd get about 1000 people wanting to go to it and for an average mon/tues you'd get around 200 what capacity would you build? It seems some would go for 200 to be on the safe side (assuming they could get a ticket for the friday night showing that is )

I'm guessing Anny Road has a season ticket so he is quite happy at Anfield thank you very much
