In the US the term doesn't really have legal meaning - used mostly in banking and its not unusual to have over 100 MDs in a firm and none of them are anywhere near the board. In the UK, an MD is always a member of the board - the director part of the title actually means something - a CEO is not a member as of right. I wouldn't sweat about the terminology, just wonder who if anyone turned us down.

Yes, clearly I mean the burning of the flag is a big issue in general. Didn't make the mainstream media here. It was on a 'soccer' blog I saw somewhere though.

I live in the US (I'm Irish) and the flag burning issue is huge here. There was a move to have a constitutional prohibition on it a few years back. Its a cultural thing. A little bit like the way Brits have a massive thing about spitting that I find somewhat over the top. I understand why the flag was burned and don't disagree with it. However, just don't dismiss those who think it is a big deal.

So if we'd bothered our a*** to beat Hull, we'd have finished above Villa and gone into the 4th qualifying round. Perfect end to the season.
