What I don't understand is that clearly this was a team setup for a nice day out at Anfield against a team that came to park the bus, not a slog in that weather and on that pitch at Oldham. Surely if you are going to play Robinson and Wisdom (and there was no real option) then Carra has to start? Joe Allen has damn all confidence and he starts in a 2 with lightweight strikers out of position on the flanks? Concede the first goal and that team was always in trouble. We needed Kuyt and Masch for that game. But all we have instead is throwing on Downing the Tin Man and Shelvey, a kid who doesn't have a real role or identity as a player.
Huge mistake to let him go now, especially when we don't know if Lucas is truely 'fixed' and Allen is not entirely convincing. He could be sold in the summer and hardly at any more of a loss.
