we'd lose nothing by loaning him for another 6 monts. clubs are always desperate in january - so even if he's only scored a few goals on loan, we'd still get more than 3.5m.
-
West Ham don't own him though - if they go down or not, I doubt they have any real control over his future and I'm sure his owners will have a price in mind that is also not related to WHU's future over the coming weeks.
-
http://www.lfcwire.com/ is very good.
-
i'd loan him out again rather than take 3.5m - that is f*ck all for a striker of any quality. If we loaned him someowhere till christmas and let him get more confidence and a few goals, we'd still get our 7/8m in Jan imo. There's no reason to panic sell.
-
now lehman has agreed a new contract, i don't see why carson would leave liverpool because he doesn't want to sit on the bench to go and sit on the bench at arsenal.
-
f***ing graqm of beak? he's been had off there then - he could have got 10 of those by offloading his ticket for 300 quid to the touts outside the ticket office on a daily basis. they're paying 300-400 i hear. how do these people get tickets though? at chelsea the other night, we had 4 fellas suited and booted who'd clearly never been a game in their lives the way they were going on about s***. one of them even spent most of the match filming it on his phone. if you want to watch the match through a screen, why go the f*ckin game?!!
-
not sure he's quite that old yet - even if he was, the way he plays, injuries permitting he will go on till he's 35 no problem.
-
But Kewell at hasn't been at his peak for a long, long time. He was OK last season, but it wasn't a patch on what he used to produce for Leeds.
-
It wouldn't surprise me if all of our strikers were available this summer. It's almost certain Robbie is gone, but I would say we'd only let 1 more go - it would depend on who we can bring in and the price we can get for one of our srikers. For once we have players who might be available, but we possibly don't need to force the sale to make another deal happen, so we can get the right deal at the right price. I think Voronin might be a 5th striker.
-
it's been made up? there is no way in a million years we will offload every striker we have this summer.
-
Yeah I was caught in that too. I got in around 8 in the end I think. It's always the same there, it's a f*ckin shambles, the policing is awful, it's like they deliberately slow stuff up. There turnstyles have noboday at them, yet the police are holding people up to get in, then let hundreds go at the turnstyles all in one go causing rushing and crushing creating a whole new set of problems. But it's the same every year there - we even got the ground a little earlier than normal in a bid to avoid all this schit, yet it was still the same.
-
But we are not able to go for the same players due to our work permit restrictions. We can only bring them in if they have european passports unless they're established stars, so it's not a level playing field.
-
or at least one where our squad players can play, as effectively our reserves are our U-20's.
-
Hooperman used to get reserve games though, there is a big difference. Dudek rarely gets a game in the ressies, so it's double difficult. It's the same with Robbie, people complain he doesn't look fit and presume that's because he's past it, it's just as much to do with the fact he rarely gets competetive playing time imo.
-
yeah i seem to remember that too. crouch came off the bench after an hour or so - i nodded that tame little header to the keeper in injury time.
-
I don't quite understand why people think this. His work rate has been phenomenal, but if you think his all round contribution has been that, you must be used to watching a team at evertons level or something.
-
reina, carra, gerrard and alonso.
-
that was in one of the papers yesterday. the sunday mirror i think.
-
Robbie was well hyped from what i remember. Everyone wanted to see him - them i remember him scoring a cracker for one of the youth levels for england and everyone was mad for him. I think it was still quite some time before he was able to break through though.
-
Despite that, there's no need for him to let the press know about his discontent or worry. That should stay within the club.
-
apparently only replies with email addresses on the database will be considered. so the saddo's from the red issue have wasted another 10 minutes of their tiny lives fretting about us.

I'll tell you what I think of the game. I'm an ST holder, I do a fair amount of domestic aways (about half) and all european aways. I go the match a lot of the time when there's nothing riding on the game. At no point did it cross my mind to buy a ticket for the charity shield, I chose to work the afternoon it was on and only watched MOTD, I couldn't even be a*sed to sky+ it. It's a game both teams are obliged to play in, helps give them a little bit of fitness before the season start, but both teams would sooner be playing a more normal friendly somewhere else. It's a pointless waste of time and money. I see that match about as relevant as the game we lost 5-0 or 5-1 or whatever it was pre-season. It matters as much as what happens in a training ground match and has no reflection on anything all season. The only people who care about the charity shield are the winners. I'd swap that win for the points we lost at the Bridge a month or so later any day of the week - and that's knowing it still wouldn't help us catch them this season.
-
it mightn't be so bad if you lived here for a few months a year - but if we have an 80k ground, it'll be no problem buying tickets match by match imo.
-
Isn't this what loads of clubs did in the 90's?
-
We wouldn't even get enough money to cover Jermaine Pennants wages for the remainder of his contract. We'd get a couple of mil absolute max - and to be quite honest I'd be surprised if we got that, Madrid would probably offer us 1st option on some s*** player they have in their C team. We won't get a transfer fee like we would on a player. Our investment in Rafa is above and beyond any compensation we could gain from Madrid. If he left now after signing a new long term contract, he'd be a c*** imo. I don't see it any other way.
