  2. the old kop had a walkway. i understand the wheelchair seats will be at the front of the higher section, hence the need for the walkway.
  3. I think it's an EU move technically. I read quite a bit on it a while back, perhaps in world soccer magazine. i think it was a pre-emptive move with EU/UEFA/FIFA before another Bosman. EDIT - I'm pretty sure it was somehow linked on the back of all the transfer window implementation.
  4. No. EU law takes precedent I think. Pretty sure I read that a while back.
  5. strangely the only thing i remember from that game is their missed pen!
  6. My point was never about how he compared as a footballer to Anelka, purely his work rate. I suggest you're having memory black outs if you think he worked his nuts off in every game for us. When he was up for it he was very, very good and there were times when he was dis-interested and schit - as he has been at every team he's played for at some point. He was on his best behaviour with us, he wanted a deal. I also don't dispute Anelka could do a job for a top team. I also happen to think Cisse could (or certainly could pre-injury) with the right team and tactics - just not our team under rafa.
  7. and as i said earlier, our captain has been guilty of those things too. in general his work rate was good and anyone who doesn't want to admit it, is because they are choosing to have a blind spot imo. his over gesturing, stupid hair cuts and ridiculous boots don't help his cause imo. he's by no means a kuyt, but he's no winston bogarde either. a great example imo is he works no more or less than nicolas anelka and i never remember him coming in for the level of schite Cisse has.
  8. but i think there's a difference in being lazy and stupid. personally, except for the semi last year, i've not really seen cisse being lazy. i just think he's thick.
  9. Go and support South Liverpool then Ooops, sorry, I forgot they've gone!
  10. Bellamy moans at his team mates quite often. You can't be watching him if you haven't seen that. He's not as bad a Djibs and he was super quiet at the start of the season - but he does it often. As does our captain. I find it stange how much stick Cisse gets for this when about 90% of attacking players do it.
  11. that's exactly how i see it.
  12. There's a bloke he knows works for one of the sundays i think. Dunno if it's someone off a forum or a mate from the pub (he did tell me i just can't remember!). He's been spot on before. He called the Lucash Neill thing way before it happened or broke anywhere - although he did think it was because Hughes was trying to push Neill to West Ham to get Konchesky in return! But he has got plenty of other things in the past. He seems to think the lad is kosher and the deal is nothing to do with if west ham stay up or not. I can't see it meself, but just thought I'd pass the info on.
  13. a west ham mate of mine is convinced that deal is done ... but as a replacement for crouch as we've agreed to sell him to newcastle.
  14. I'd be surprised if Gerrard and Alonso both play. Agger is what I would deem as 1st choice and part of out "best XI" - he'll play v Barca - but I think he may be rested again v the mancs. It's also possible Finnan may get a rest and we'll play Arebola <sp> I think too. My point is selection for the Man U game will be made with the Barca game being the priority - which will be more of an issue as it's on a Tues not Weds.
  15. personally, i think rafa will take the chance to rest some more players before the barca game on the tuesday. it might have been different had we still been in with a chance of catching the mancs, but i expect the focus will be on winning the CL from now on. i don't expect a full side - not as weak a side as saturday, but i do expect a couple of players not to be risked.
  16. apparently they've requested the game to be played on the monday night.
  17. i would have thought training with us is no big deal - he can still go back to WHU if the PL don't ratify the deal.
  18. Pretty sure someone has said we don't own his registration yet, so we can't play him v barca .
  19. he has a relegation clause, so he'd get another move and a big fat signing on fee. sounds like the perfect deal for neill.
  20. he's on the uefa web site as being in the squad. squad number 20 i believe.
  21. and it could also be performance linked - so they can get up to that amount if they win the league and CL every year or something.
  22. i used the official site for a couple of pre-seaon friendlies, there was nothing wrong with that. not quite tv standard, but perfectly viewable. i'm sure when the clubs come to do this properly it will be done by their own club or at least their own dedicated web service, so they can control quality and access.
  23. it seems a more popular point of view than i imagined!!!
  24. i know this will go against the popular mood about this - but quite honestly i can't think of anything worse. i go the match to enjoy myself. i don't want a constant reminder of that day. i don't want to be sat next to an empty seat so all I think is that could have been my mate. imo, this idea is morbid and depressing. we have the memorial, which as far as i know is getting moved to the new stadium, that's enough for me and we have the HJC to fight for justice, which i'm more than happy to support.

    Debt

according to an article i read yesterday (i think in the independant), they are clearing 45m debt and the rest is to be refinanced and hidden in the stadium costs! considering that doesn't seem to have been mentioned anywhere else, i think it's a classic case of papers talking a*** to cover up the fact they've previously talked a***.
