  1. tonight's echo (prentice) claiming rafa has named 5 striker targets (without quoting rafa naming them) - Hunterlaar, Kone, Tevez, Torres and Milito. Said he wants them in before pre-season Does not see the rush with spanish players as they're just on holiday and would need a longer break.
  2. we would get way more than €7m from any number of english clubs considering the new tv deal. if djibs doesn't like it, we need to improve our reserve team next year, so we can accommodate him there no problem.
  3. before wenger had him at monaco?
  4. sporting lisbons ground - of which ours was modelled on prior to the plans being thrown in the bin.
  5. as i said a few posts back, it's anfield with a different main stand - it was the option to the original parry bowl.
  6. that's what a 55k current anfield would have looked like if we'd have redeveloped the main stand. the big stand is the main stand.
  7. is that because jag's don't have va va voom?
  8. brilliant. that really made me laugh.
  9. Most of the extra revenue will go to pay dividend to the owners so they are able to make payments on their loans (stadium included) out of their own pockets.

  11. think it's the year after.
  12. It is possible - but as you say the one you know of is low profile. If we'd spent 10m+ on a player, I feel someone, somewhere along that transfer trail (agent, the other club, player), would have let something leak. it is possible that may be more likely to be quiet if it was a spanish based player, but people involved in deals like this tend to want things to leak.
  13. I don't, because if it works (as in they all renew or at least get people to replace the ones who give up season tickets), we'll be next at the same game.
  14. Well on May 24th, the manager seemed to want 2 signings for £10m each or whatever it was, within a week. So obviously his primary targets were not in the Spanish league and he expected the deals to be done. As a result I don't think it's unreasonable for fans to be concerned and frustrated when those deals have not been done. You can write some good stuff on here at times fyds, but other times you remind me of the copper off south park with your "nothing to see here" attitude.
  15. imo, if people can't be arsed to take 2 or 3 minutes to drop a quick email, they deserve not to have their voice heard and f***ed over at our next cup final. There was plenty of people taking the time to have the same rant time and again when they thought they weren't getting a cup final ticket - it will be exactly at the next final if people don't get their fingers out and make what is a small effort.
  16. is it worth making this a sticky for a few days?
  17. Have you watched anything like enough of Lucas, Voronin, anderson and nani to make a decision on if they'll improve either ours or the mancs 1st team? Or let's put it another way, who do the mancs drop to accomodate the 3 players they have signed this week? 2 of them are players for the future, cover and future replacement for scholes and giggs no matter what they cost imo. Hargreave I prefer to Carrick - but Carrick sits in front of the back 4, whereas Hargreaves is a more box to box player like Momo, so there's no real indication he would improve their 1st XI. Last year the mancs bought nobody but carrick. We'd finished the season a couple of points behind them. Everyone thought we could catch them. But we didn't. The stability the lack of signings kept and the return of scholes massively improved them. There nothing to suggest the same won't happen with us. And as i said in the last post, it's just 9 days since we last played. This is hardly the time to panic. I'll only get worried should it become apparent that the lack of activity is genuinley affecting rafa's position at the club.
  18. We have signed someone. We signed Lucas before the season finished. We've signed Voronin on a bosman. What is the need for ignoring these transfers? The mancs have signed a player who they wanted last year and is probably effectively out of last years budget and two class prospects. We've signed an established international and a top prospect ourselves. I know we're behind them before we start, but the summer has hardly started yet. It's only 9 days since our last match.
  19. Of course it's differnent. Ince was a West Ham boy and when the mancs got shut it was on their terms. Owen has come through our ranks and the only reason he's not at LFC now is because he chose to leave.
  20. we started, then stopped 48 hours later i think. we still haven't restarted - but i thought the last claim was there'd be visible work with the digging starting by the end of june (although i might be making that up!).
  21. i vaguely remember seeing these banners - although i've no idea what they meant.
  22. 9m? That's buttons for a stiker of his age. We paid for an average striker and got an above average one.
  23. I thouht they didn't sell out? I don't see how they'd have room to complain anyway, they only took about 12k to istanbul, so 17k seems reasonable to them.
  24. I agree it may not be proved, but I think the onus is on the club to do everything they can to check it out. A full audit of all winners in the 1st round ballot may reveal something - a number of duplicate addresses, duplicate name etc. It may prove nothing - but I don't see it as such a big task to investigate and it would actually show the club give a s***, which certainly from Parry's tone up to now, that has not appeared the case. What is just as important is going forward, the club try to ensure that if we have ballots in the future (which is obviosuly far from guaranteed), then they have to be transparent and I think it would be in the interests of the club to do it in house. They are at least in 100% control of what happens - back to the TV text quiz analogy, mostly the TV companies were not to blame, it was the 3rd party, but the TV companies are the ones who ulitimately take the rap from the public and press. I personally have no doubt Rick Parry has come out of all this looking very bad, not only to the fans but to the new owners. Equally I envisage the new owners will be keen to not let this bad PR happen again. Going forward, can they stop agencies getting ticket? Well probably not - but they can put systems in place where they attempt to make it as difficult as possible for them - and a bit of honesty along they way is essential, something I feel has been missing throughout this whole process.
  25. Yes the 1st ballot is 1 in 3.5. In your experience, do you really think 1 in 3.5 people on 6 credits got tickets at that 1st round? That would be easier if LFC knew they were agencies and if indeed it was LFC who ensure particular fancards got the tickets. But it doesn't mean the fancards are reg'd to agencies, they could just be in individual names. As I said in my previous posts, I'm not saying LFC rigged the ballot, but it is more than plausable the 3rd party who did the ballot did. As an example of the corrupt society we live in, just look at all the s*** over these TV text quizes over the last 6 months or so. Corrupt as hell - and why? Because the 3rd party thinks people (and the TV companies they running them on behalf of) won't and can't find out. If somone at the 3rd party who did the ballot is taking a back hander, he may think there is no way anyone, including LFC, can find out - or the type of money involved is worth the risk. As I say, the evidence points to 1 in 3.5 people did not get tickets from the 1st ballot - but yet that number of fancards did get lucky (I think that is without doubt, the lad from RAWK also proved that I think). So which fancard holders got the ticket, because it isn't the lads who go the game?
