I said it at the time, and repeatedly after he left and we persisted with Danny Murphy, that he was overall a more effective player than him, and should've been retained. He didn't get on with Houllier, Murphy did. Then again if he had only learned to keep his mouth shut, but as has been said, injuries are to blame for his decline, he had moments at Coventry and Blackburn. When he scored against us at Anfield and had his name chanted louder than most of that current squad it said it all.
