Because there are no set rules of behaviour. Transfers are and should be on a case by case basis. A player can be worth more to one club than he is another. A player might cost more than another similarly skilled player because of his potential , proven ability, age or even his nationality (since it looks like FIFA intend to continue to bring in rules on homegrown players). You can continue to draw conclusions from the evidence you see, but people will disagree with those conclusions. I disagree with you, but mostly because there is in very little evidence for us to discuss yet. It may still turn out that you're right, but the fact of the matter is it's too early to tell for sure. A few months too early to draw conclusions about what our transfer policy is and what the management team see as priorities and years too early to tell if any of transfers will be successful. This is silly season, it happens every year. He's shown more promise than Warnock or PFK, and is more defensively sound than Insua. That isn't difficult. Do you actually think we're going to be buy anyone good enough? We have too many first team positions to fill and too many squad players to replace. Hopefully some of the more promising youngsters are actually used as squad players. That would save money and for a change let us develop some youth players. We don't have sugar daddies in FESV, or NSV or whatever the f*** abbreviation these Americans are using, they aren't going to plop down 10 million quid for a left back, centre back, two wide midfielders, a centre midfielder and another forward.
