Funny thing is I think that Ferguson is a superb tactician as well as a motivator, and generally I agree with what you have said there, but he defo knows when to put everyone behind the ball and keep it tight. How many times did they diddle us at Anfield under Rafa with basically one shot on goal? (Rooney, O'Shea...) Utd know how to flat track bully the dross of the league, but over time I would say they have largely abandoned the overwhelming attack philosophy which the pundits roll out. I would say that these days they are just the best counter attacking side in the league (by a long way, too).
