The one last night, at Anfield IMO he seemed to coast through the game, he misplaced a lot of passes (by his standards) and I thought he was too casual in the way he tried to clear the ball that lead to the goal. So yes, casual is the word I think described his performance.
-
Reina should have read what exactly. A dangerous ball was whipped into the box so he rightly stayed on his line, the defender in front of him chests the ball into the net so he makes a despairing lunge to keep the ball out. I'm struggling to see what else he could have done.

Fook me the Specials were right IT WAS XABI's MISTAKE
-
Xabi was too casual all night and that was the icing on the cake, he tried to chest it down to his feet so he could bring it out but it bounced to hard off him. What he should have do was just blocked the ball with his chest (facing away from the goal) and hoped to hack away the ball as it dropped.

Sums it up for me, only him and Reina of those that started didn't deserve the end result. The rest of them were apathetic at best. Too many changes Rafa, too many. They went into that thinking it would be a breeze because Rafa rested key players for Chelsea.

You don't sign an Anfield legend and then not include him in the first squad. The place is going to go ballistic at the mention of the fellas name and the atmosphere will be electric because of it. Rafa would be shooting himself in the foot by not including Robbie in the squad. Especially as tonight is EXACTLY the kind of game that cries out for a finisher of Robbie's class

There is a misconception over Fowler's pace (or lack of it) because of Michael Owen IMO. In his heyday I'd say Fowler was as quick as the likes of Andy Cole and Jermaine Defoe. In his heyday Owen was f***ing turbo charged !!!!!!

Spurs bid £20.5m for Fernando Torres

Neither did I till I read the list in 442. They have also just offloaded a load of players so maybe that has something to do with it as well. -

I read a 'Rich List' the other day and one of their director is the 2nd richest man in football (behind you know who) maybe he got his change purse out. Philip Green I think it was. -
Deft little flick for the JAR goal yesterday. I too think he has struggled but there have been glimpses of his quality. We have missed little Luis WAAAY more IMO lately. not denigrating El Moro but there was so little inspiration on that pitch without Garcia and Kewell yesterday.

I think it's called supporting your team ...... Personally, if Lampard scored the winner in the World Cup final I'd go as mad as I did when Jerzy saved the penalty. Winning the greatest prize in football is winning the greatest prize be it club or country. I wnet bonkers when we won the Ashes and the Rugby World Cup. If Liverpool were in the World Cup then they would get my full support and I'd boo all the England players. They are not so I don't.

That's the problem, as Huyton said, they are all been there done that fans who get in five minutes before kick off and leave at the stroke of full time. I always try and get tickets for the KOP for the European games because the atmosphere is immense and I sing my heart out. However, I don't do that every week because I sit in the Lower Centenary and it's like a morgue. IMO the problem with the atmosphere is that it is generated in the pubs and disappates in the ground. Lock everyone in 30 mins before kick off and we would have no alternative but to generate an atmosphere. Since it became all seater the need to get in early has gone and THAT has killed the atmosphere in the ground.

That's interesting, I didn't know that, I always thought it was because they f***ed it up because Vieira was their preferred option. This one but this one is 25yrs old and the other one was 23. He's a more mature player now. Is that down to the manager or the player ?

Lesser of 5 evils for me, I don't rate Gallas out there either.

Chelsea formation ------------Cech Finnan Terry Carra Del Horno ----------Makalele -------Alonso Gerrard Robben ------------- Kewell ----------Crespo 5 Liverpool 6 Chelsea Reina was 49/51 to Cech so really I'm 5.5 each side

Ferguson forced to apologise for malaria comment
Woodsyla replied to Ombudsam 's topic in General Football Discussion
I think the reaction happened because everything everyone EVER says is spun out of context by the media and spread across the back pages. To cover his a*** Fergie should have said 'They only way we can catch Chelsea is if some none specific unfortunate incident hit the Chelsea camp and they were unable to field any players in their next ten matches' Even then some f***** from the Non Specific Incident group would ring in complaining that Fergie was giving them a bad name and that not all non specific incidents were in fact unfortunate !!!!
