  1. Never say never, they lose at the Bridge and they only have 2nd to lose and nothing to play for. They win/draw at the Bridge and we can rest some players. The FA Cup is 3 weeks away, why rest players now ? I expect to see the usual squad rotation this Wednesday. With Kewell injured Rafa has to shuffle the pack anyway so we will see a few changes.
  2. If we finish second and Arsenal don't win the CL then we automatically qualify for the group stages next year. That's something to play for. If Chelsea beat Utd next week then we will only be 3pts behind. Till it's mathmatically gone you should put out your strongest side. Also, why put out a weakened team against the side that you will face in the Cup final. Batter them and get a phychological edge for the final. No one could despute Chelsea have that edge over us after that frantic defending in the second half. A couple more performances of that ilk thought and the pendulum will swing. Rest Kewell and Sami (if Agger is fit), rotate the strikers (play Fowler), maybe Kromkamp for Finnan but we need to keep the core of the side playing so we don't lose form going into the final.
  3. Everyone who went to the Semi has two credits or more. There are less tickets for the final than the semi. The people who will miss out are fancard holders who haven't got 3 credits, Season ticket holders WILL get preferential treatment JUST LIKE THEY DID for the Semifinal. There is nothing ot complain about as a ST holder. If you went to the home cup game (which you are guarnateed a seat for) you will almost certainly get a final ticket. If you didn't go to the Manc game and weren't switched on enough to buy a ticket and give it to a mate then you will miss out but it's hardly the systems fault. You got your 'special' treatement as a ST holder you just didn't use it.
  4. I was in position A for Kewell yesterday and it was one of his best performances of the season, however, he still has lost a yard of pace, he got a lot of time and space and used it well. He's a quality player, just not got that devastating acceleration he had when he first came but all round he is a top class left midfielder. I just hope he is fit for the final, he deserves too play in it.
  5. or get 5 in the noggin for carrying a rucksack ....
  6. Rooney ....... THE END It's a short list !!
  7. If this is the best Liverpool player then it has to be Gerrard, he is a class above. If it's best performer based on their respective abilities then any one of Carra, Sami, Finnan, Pepe and Xabi must be in with a shout. Gerrard is the best player we have by a country mile, the only players in the country who I would rate as on a par with him in their respective positions are Rooney and Henry.
  8. Exactly, it's not his fault our strikers can't hit a barn door with their head, his crossing is definitely improved.
  9. If any of our strikers (Fowler excepted) could head a ball Kewell would have a raft of assists. His delivery is still a bit hit and miss but so is most wingers, they don't deliver a perfect ball every time. The number of times he has whipped balls into the box for Morientes or Crouch to stand and watch or WORSE meet with a half arsed header. It pains me to say it but if Drogba played up front for us he'd have had a dozen goals from Kewell crosses.
  10. Those dark old days when we finished second in the league behind a rampant Arsenal. Houllier must be s***, look at the mess he has made at Lyon. Blackburn HAD not lost at home in the league this year beating both Utd and Arsenal in that period. In Bellamy they have a fast striker who is banging in goals. We went there won 1-0 and should have won 3-0 Bellamy didn't get a sniff. There is a time and place for counter attacking and Sunday was it. We did what no one else has done this year in the league. Great result, if we play a bit 'Houllier' from time to time I'll be f***ing delighted.
  11. Give it to big Phil
  12. I'm there also, block 14/06 by the halfway line. Should be decent seats for £55 !!!

    Semi final

It can't be tomorrow as the tickets are on sale to ST holders tomorrow and Friday. I'd guess the ballot will be done Tuesday as it's the service Saturday.

    Semi final

Season ticket holders get the right to go to every home first round game of every tournament, extending that logic a season ticket holder who attends a first round game at home should be entitled to a second round ticket at home. In this case there has only been 1 hoem game therefore AFTER those who went to two games it makes sense to guarantee season ticket holders a seat next IF they attended the one home game.
  18. This the same Makalele that Gerrard raped for pace in the cup final and Makalele hauled him down in the box. You don't half spout some s****, Makalele aint quick. They are two totally different players, time for an education - Alonso took Hammans role, Sissoko does the role Gerrard does when he plays CM against decent opposition. Sissoko's game is all about pace and closing down to win the ball which is how Gerrard wins the ball, Hamann and Alonso (although he presses more now than Didi did) is about anticipating what happens next and stopping it. That is what Makalele does.

    Cisse

I noticed that when Kewell and Cisse swapped sides, Kewell had the full back on toast and nearly scored, he seemed to have the beating of him quite easily. Probably why Rafa figured little Luis might have similar joy.
  21. What I also noticed in the 20 mins I watched was he makes some great runs behind the full back. Unfortunately nobody passed the ball to him but it didn't stop him making the runs. I reckon Xabi might pick out those runs next season ot good effect.
  22. Have a look at the goals he scored at the start of his LFC career quite a few screamers from distance particularly in Yerp. Famous is probably not the right phrase but if you ask people to name a Hary Kewell goal then normally pick a screamer from distance. 'As capable as any other player in the squad with his left peg from distance therefore should be mentioned at this juncture' was probably the phrase I was looking for. Just getting a tad fecked off with the posts I've read this morning consigning Kewell to the scrapheap because we have signed a good young player.
  23. I think he'll select 16 players for each match and one or both will be in the first X1 with the other probably on the bench Just a hunch though
  24. Errrrmmmmm , I'm sure we have another left footed player who is also famous for lamping them in from that sort of range. What was his name again ........ cough Harry cough Kewell cough
  25. Just watched it this morning (repeat) and the nobhead was blaming the player who fouled Gonzales for getting Guti sent off. Guti was sent off BEFORE that incident occurred Piss poor whoever he was.
