Scot by name ........ I actually think he will do ok. He's not tactically inept, he clearly has a plan B, the main problem he seems to have at Boro is getting highly paid individuals to deliver for him week in week out. Boro beat Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea at home yet lost 7-0 to Arsenal away. Not the model of consistency, however for England the players shouldn't need motivating just coaching. He's not gung ho so we shouldn't get spanked by anyone but on the negative side of things it will be Team Neville and Beckham until they retire. So, glad it's not fat Sam, we'd have been playing lump it up to Davis with Rooney running for the flick ons before you could say Fat Headed c***. That fella from Tranmere would get brought out of retirement for his long throws.

Which games are on live on Sunday on Sky
Woodsyla replied to Huyton_Red's topic in General Football Discussion
I think Cobs has nailed it. Makes sense now. The drama in both cases will be between both matches so show one but keep close tabs on the other. I'll watch the Arsenal game until Utd go behind in the 87th minute and we are beating Pompey. If you've got Sky digital you can probably watch whatever game you like so it will be irrelevant which ones they choose. I've got cable -
He's got a Ukrainian grandfather

You don't know Elisha, but he KNOWS these things. If he says a player has signed/wants to leave then it's true and will have come from the player himself. Warnock is 24 isn't he, bit too old to be deemed as promising ...
-
I would, Heinze is much better defensively than Riise
-
If we are talking best of the best re full backs I'd like to add Gabriel Hienze to the mix. for a first season he was outstanding, and IMO it's no coincidence that the Mancs defence has gone t*** up since his injury. He also weighed in with his share of goals. IMO there are about 6 world class full backs out there currently and our boy is one of them, that will do for me.

Benitez didn't turn him into a better player, he was outstanding at Fulham, THATS why we bought him. He started off terrific but suffered with a few injuries and didn't play as well when he came back. THIS was the player Rafa saw and decided he wasnt up to scratch. Then the real Steve Finnan showed up and won his place back with a string of great performances, firstly from RW and then when Josemi got injured at RB. Rafa didn't improve him he recognised that the Finnan he'd seen was a shadow of the player we bought from Fulham. I really respected Rafa at that point because a lot of managers would have stuck by 'their' man but Rafa saw his mistake and Josemi lost his place not Finnan.

You mean like Alonso does now, Hamann had Kaka in his pocket in the second half, Alonso didn't in the first half, explain again how Alonso is the better defensive midfielder. Momo plays Gerrard's role in the middle so the comparison is pointless. Xabi does what Didi did and has more to his game but there is some stuff that Didi is WAAAY better at. Xabi's defensive game has made leaps and bounds this season whilst Didi's legs have started to go. One last question, why did Rafa DROP Alonso in the game against Chelsea when we needed a point to win the group and play Hamann AND Sissoko in the centre ?

Diouf, he looked quality in the World Cup, thought we'd signed real talent
-
Hey, here's a thing, he (was) a 19 year old that the whole country had built their hopes on. He dazzled in a major championship and most defenders he played were then giving him digs to get a reaction and boy did they get it. He got riled to the point that Sven subbed him before half time on one occassion. In the last 6 months he has matured immeasurably and looks a better player for it.
-
Was Bobby Moore better than Pele ? Facile argument both individuals are top drawer. Gerrard is more versatile than Rooney.
-
Rooney has played in ONE major championship and he was outstanding, he is two years older and better. We are discussing Rooney because he is the one player England have with that spark, that touch, turn, technique, capable of creating something out of nothing. Steven Gerrard is World Class unquestionably but he is not Rooney and if Sven plays him in a holding role as per usually he will be merely quietly effective. Unless he's called Maradona you don't win the World Cup with one World Class player. That is what we have now, ONE. Massive blow, on a par with Brazil losing Ronadinho.

Birmingham's stand out player at Anfield. £3m for a young English talent I'd rip their f***ing hand off. Bargain. I reckon this is a done deal because previously both Anny and Elisha mentioned that we were in discussions. If we buy Kuyt and A N other top drawer striker that would do me for the summer.

Here, my threpenny worth. I hate Ingerlund fans, bunch of Neanderthal w*****s. I passionately support my country in every sport that I have a vague interest in. Naturally I support Ingerlund. I'm gutted Rooney isn't playing because without him we have no chance, just as Man Ure would be battling Spurs and Arsenal without him England will be coming home early because the rest aren't good enough (Gerrard excepted) to win a World Cup. Where do I watch the games ? At home or with mates because the pubs are full of w*****s. If you can't beat them you don't have to join them, just do your own thing.

England team/formation without Rooney
Woodsyla replied to Rory Fitzgerald 's topic in General Football Discussion
Have to say this is the most factually inaccurate statement I've ever seen Beckham in the holding role, surely some mistake. -
One thing last night's result has done is ruled out goal difference (realistically). Beat Pompey and hope that Curbishley's last game rouses Charlton into beating/drawing with a Rooney-less Utd. It's all academic because Arsenal will go and win the f***ing thing but it would be nice to finish above the Mancs and have a reason to really get behind a team in the CL final. I hate watching games that I am dispassionate about, I get bored.

At least that way we avoid Big Phil It's going to be WW3 if we meet Portugal in the QF now.
-
Not particularly but I'd be f***ing ecstatic with a strike force of Crouch, Owen, Kuyt and Fowler.

phil scolari the next england manager
Woodsyla replied to liverbird04's topic in General Football Discussion
and be intelligent enough to realise that you can't play Gerrard and Lampard in a straight 4-4-2 and either change the formation or axe one of them. I haven't been this excited as an Engerlund fan since Euro 96. We have a manager who wont take s*** even from established internationals and has won everything at the top level and can get a side to perform above it's ability on the big stage (Portugal). YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS -
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...060426-1602.htm What the ??????? So I can't buy tickets with my mates in the Kop because they have a different day. It's safe to say that ST holders got priority on this occassion !!!
-
Spot on, this is what a lot of people forget, due to circumstances I've missed about 6 league games this season for one reason or another. If I can't sell the ticket on I end up paying for matches I don't go to. Still on the plus side I saved £240 in petrol Cruel
-
You can't afford to buy a ticket on the phone and sell it on to a mate for face value, net cost 50p plus a phone call. you can afford the £50+ it will cost for a final ticket. Riight.
