Don't think so. Kev's missed on here IMO, sound lad. Not sure about his ITK status though, hence asking Gunga if that's where his info comes from!

Is this from the same source as AntYNWA on TLW - as in Snorky's lad?

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/spo...gan_v_liverpool Some team news, sounds like they have a few problems unless its mind games from Fat Ed
-
The big difference is that then we had a few players who could head a ball. Fowler was fantastic in the air, Collymore not bad and we had Mark Wright & Ruddock as a threat too. We score so few headers nowadays it doesn't matter how good the cross is, no-one is likely to be on the end of it.

Rafa won't let him leave before the transfer window closes unless we have a replacement coming in and that's pretty unlikely given his comment last week.
-
Getting back to the topic - Rafa's contract, Hicks is already over here apparently and I suspect there's a good chance there will be an announcement of some sort of a breakthrough before the Chelsea game. Rafa will want a few things sorted while he is face-to-face with Hicks so I can see some good-news spin (eg new contract offer for Agger) put on events to avert fanning the flames of the protests we can expect after the SOS meeting on Sunday.
-
If it's true that Spurs & Man City are both bidding we could get our money back.
-
Where does that leave Keane? When Rafa meets Hicks I hope he : 1. Agrees a new contract with control over his transfer budget 2. Sells Keane to whoever for £15-20m 3. Buys Owen for £2-3m
-
"That commitment was seemingly strengthened yesterday when sources at the Royal Bank of Scotland, with whom Hicks and his business partner George Gillett have a £350 million loan due for repayment or refinance in July, suggested the bank were not expecting any movement on the club's ownership until July." Got me worried until I read that a bit closer. Not expecting any movement until July is the bank sitting on the fence.
-
Not many dodgy loan sharks lending £300m at the moment. Even if there was, it would only be buying them a limited amount of time and the current financial mess won't blow over for at least another year

HAHAHA - the guy had 15 mins at the end of the Spurs-ManU cup game and the commentators said that according to 'Arry he was the most talented player on their books. He then proceeded to play like a 10 year old losing possession every time, muscled off the ball, passing straight to the opposition in short he was dogsh*te, in fact it was a cameo of utter dogsh*teness. And that's what the poster was basing this must-buy on

Good piece by Barrett. I wonder if this "city source" that keeps getting mentioned (its in some of the broadsheets as well) is Amanda Staveley. They have 6 months to either refinance with another bank (it won't be RBS) or sell. The only other alternative is repo/admin which would mean their guarantees would be called in. It won't be much fun in the months to come as the clock ticks down but if it means these 2 clowns end up losing money on us and we are back with DIC it will be worth the wait.

We have lost 2 games in all competitions all season. Before we start the blame game, just put that on record. Rafa's team building has got us to the stage where we are rarely outplayed, in fact we are dominant in most games home & away. This means that more & more teams have started to park the bus and play for a draw and we have yet to master this tactic. It's a damn sight better than seeing us hoofing the ball and playing on the break (even at home) which for a long while was the Liverpool way. The one area where we are still woeful in comparison with all our rivals (& even the likes of Villa & Everton) is set pieces. With all the pressure we put on teams playing most of the game in the opposition half we should be breaking sides down far more with a return from our numerous corners & free kicks. If the squad is missing anything it is having a threat from set pieces and personally, I don't see too much wrong with the delivery (usually from Gerrard) it is failing to attack the ball and with the exception of Sami, who can't play every week, a few players who can actually head the ball.

Sammy Lee should be (& probably is) doing this job

If Rafa had complete control over transfer funds.....
beejay replied to Iver's topic in Liverpool FC
Rafa's made mistakes with transfers but he is way on the credit side. Wenger's made some huge blunders (Jeffers/Wiltord/Reyes = about £40m for starters let alone all the sh*te defenders he has bought) and Ferguson's list of expensive flops is longer than the M62. They have also bought very well at times and are also in the black but the point is that evryone seems to think they are masters of the transfer market while Rafa is a loose cannon. Reina, Agger, Mascherano, Alonso & Torres are world class and all worth far more than we paid. Skretl, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Kuyt, Garcia, Riera have all done a good job and while the jury is still out on Lucas & Babel they are young players with talent. We have made money on buying & selling the likes of Bellamy & Crouch. The only ones we have lost on that I can remember are Pennant & Morientes because Rafa has been quick to move on players who haven't worked out. Keane is looking like Rafa's biggest mistake but there is still time for him to come good (you never know) while even Dossena has started to show why we paid the money for him. The youth players are a mixed bag but Insua is the 1st to come through and there are several other good prospects. When you think of some of the stumblebums who appeared in the red shirt pre-Rafa - we could start a whole new thread on who was the worst there are so many candidates - I think Rafa deserves a bit more kudos for his transfer policy & has earned the right to have more control over his budget, leaving Parry to sort out wages etc. -
Beating Everton in the FA Cup would help us in our quest for the title, no question IMO. We need a win under our belts and a bit more of the feelgood factor after the events of the last couple of weeks on & off the pitch. Knocking them beauts out of the Cup will give the red part of the city a f***in huge smile on our faces after the b******s we have had to endure after their jammy draw Monday night and will set us up nicely. A draw or defeat would hurt like f*** and dent the team's confidence even more. Rafa won't pull any punches on this, I'm sure of it and for once a draw is not acceptable we have to win
-
We looked world beaters up to New Year but have gone off the boil a bit since yet have still lost only once all season, even that in injury time of a game we should have walked. Knocking the bluesh*te out of the cup and a win at Wigan will set us up nicely for the Chelsea game
-
Wrong on so many counts. Sorry, I respect your views but we can't keep shifting Gerrard all over the park to plug holes is the first problem with your tactical plan, second we only had a problem down the right when Kuyt was moved into the centre, third our problems are with other areas.

GEEK Alert! - The Run in? - ManU have no easier a Home run in than us...
beejay replied to Case 's topic in Liverpool FC
If Arsenal have such an easy home run to come doesn't that mean their away games are hard? Much rather have easier away games and the tougher ones at home personally -
The only sympathy I have for Keane is that he seems to have become piggy-in-the-middle of the spat between Rafa & Parry over transfer policy. But as a seasoned pro, captain of club & country & life-long supporter of his new club he has been a massive disappointment both in terms of his performance & his attitude. He played last night like a young kid, running around a lot but hardly ever touching the ball or making any meaningful contribution. There was no awareness of space and he spent most of his time arriving just in time to see the ball cleared away from him so he could get on with the job of looking busy while doing f*** all.

does our problems start in the defence...
beejay replied to floyd the barber's topic in Liverpool FC
It's uncanny how people see games so differently. Me & my mates came away saying thank god Skretl was back because Carra & Hyypia were so out of sorts. He did whack a couple of clearances against a blue a&se when he should have looked for the safer option but overall he was solid & was attempting short balls into the midfield rather than lumping it long. Yet when I read this thread & the match one, there are loads saying how sh*te he was. Maybe its the telly coverage -

Nonsense. It's called competing for the ball - which a few more of our team should have been doing, especially in the 1st half when their yard dogs were bullying us -

Yes. In fact Sami was the one who was a bit off last night - apart from his pass of the season to Torres which was amazing, he must be cursing Fernando for missing that cos that through ball would have been replayed again & again. As for Skretl, he did fine other than in the last few mins when everyone decided to pass sideways or hoof
