    Adam Hamill

Good move, I think. I'd read some people thought he needed to toughen up a bit, and the SPL should help him there. And, as has been said, if he can't get into that team nuff said, really.
  2. on Soccerbase Giggs stats are: League: 433 (58) FA Cup: 48 (7) League Cup: 25 (5) Other: 111 (7) Scholes's are: League: 294 (64) FA Cup: 23 (8) League Cup: 11 (5) Other: 99 (12) Seems about right to me.
  3. Why is it they never mention that Ferguson was on Parole when he did that head butt which is why he got sent down?
  4. Did you not count "other" appearances, by any chance? (which includes all their Europeans games for example)
  5. Show's what I friggin' know!
  6. Err, don't they actually cost £80,00 - £180,000? I think I see where he's going wrong...
  7. Ferguson was rumoured to be behind McLeish getting the boot last season too, apparently he didn't get on with him either. The big problem for Le Guen is that a lot of his own buys have flopped. Sebo is terrible, Sionko very hot and cold, Svenson average at best. The only real success is probably Clement, who is only really starting to play well now. He also dropped Kris Boyd, the teams top scorer, and top scorer in the league because he didn't track back enough, which angered a lot of fans when the team couldn't buy a goal without him. There have been a few things out of his control -- Burke's injury, when he is one of the few flair players in the team, and Prso now being essentially unable to run due to age and knee issues. He definitely won't be sacked before the end of the season -- Rangers haven't had that many managers in their history and Murray isn't keen to give up that quickly. If the team goes on a bad run without Ferguson then the tide will be firmly against him, but if they get a good run going the fans will forget about it. I think what happens with Ferguson will say a lot. If he isn't sold now in the window then things don't look good for Le Guen.
  8. Him and Arteta played together at Rangers, and Ferguson always looked the better player by a mile. Having said that, I wouldn't take him. He's not been the same player since he came back from Blackburn (although he'd actually started playing better recently). There were rumours he'd had a bust up with McLeish last season, and now Le Guen this season, so his attitude is questionable. He's used to being the main man, and isn't going to settle for being an understudy to Xabi and Stevie, plus the last time he was down south he complained the whole time about being homesick. The season before he moved to Blackburn he was sensational, and I'd have given him a shot then, but he's had a few bad injuries since, and just never seemed to completely recover, for my money.

  10. Craig Gordon is the only one I can think of that would be ready right nwo to step up to even Preimiership level, really. Hibs have some great young players though, who with the right chances could make it (Whittaker, Brown, Thompson). Remains to be seen if they'd ever be good enough though. Chris Burke at Rangers has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, but he's a crock, sadly. Stevie Smith, Ranger's young left back, I rate very highly too (one of their few decent players) -- he does the simple thigns well, and is rarely caught out, which is one thing in the Scottish league, but he didn't look out of place last season against Inter, Porto, etc.
  11. Was that Benfica? Can't be Man U, they only got two against them... Rangers are pish mind. Looked promising at the start of the season, but I'd been at their last couple of league games and they were just shocking. Hibs beat Hearts tonight, which is an interesting result. Always had a soft spot for Hibs. They have an utterly mental approach to football -- you score 3, we'll score 4 stuff.
  12. And 11 in 10 games total. Looks a very good young player. Bloody Arsenal.
  13. He's one of the few Hearts players I actually like. He's also bailed them out quite a few times this season with top saves, so a bit of a shame it was him of all people who cost them that game.
  14. The weird thing is most Hearts fans I know still think he's basically the second coming. Hearts were ina ton of debt when he bought them out -- and, interestingly, they still are. He didn't pay it off, he just moved it to the bank he owns! A lot of the financial stuff is just dodgy as hell. He also owns Kaunas (who we played a wee while ago, if you remember) and he buys players with Kaunas and then loans them to Hearts (so half the new players he brings in Hearts don't even own) He also likes mouthing off to the press a lot -- they actually changed the rules in Scottish football so he could be charged. He was constantly complaining about refs etc. but because he doesn't hold a position at the club (his son is chairman) he couldn't be charged. Now the rules allow majority shareholders and owners to be done (and he was in fact censured last week). UEFA are also wanting to charge him for claiming the ref was bribed/biased in their CL qualifier.
  15. I used to post in the caf before I got banned in the cull. The general footy forum on there was always a good laugh. I'd be for more rivals on here, so long as they're not just WUMs, which gets boring quickly. The Mancs and efcrmagic etc definately add to things. I remeber the fun days of trying to convince... jumpers for goalposts, was it... that leeds were in dire financial trouble :-) Used to be a Arsenal guy who was a good lad too (though that might have been back in the old KT days)
  16. Well they charge £15 a month for the SPL/Bundesliga/etc stuff they have at the minute. No way it'll be any less than that.
  17. Hadn't heard that one, mind you most of my mates are Hibees. Then again you'd reckon they'd be pretty happy with that news Shall mention it to a few people at the Rangers game this weekend and see if anyone else has heard. At the very least it'll kick off a bigger rumour
  18. My uncle is a blue. He grew up going to Everton games, and when Everton where away he and his mates would go to Liverpool games if they couldn't get tickets. When we won number five he asked his daughter if she was going to the victory parade, she says "no, I'm an everton fan", and he was livid. Said it's the club, then the city, it was still a win for the city. Think he's very out of date these days though
  19. He's a fantastic keeper. Seen him quite a lot live, still a bit to learn, but still quite young. Would be a good signing for 'em. Not heard a peep about this up here though. Mind you with Romanov in charge anything is possible. Reckon the Hearts fans would be livid if they let him go though.
  20. And Northern Ireland have gotten further in a World Cup than Scotland, and they've gotten to the quarters twice, which is better than Wales, making them the UK team with the second best record in World Cups
  21. Duncan Ferguson got jailed for assault during a game. Broke a guys cheek bone in a "challenge" Of course he was already on parole at the time for beating up some one else in the street...

  24. Fletcher is the star of that side for me. The Czechs will be a tough test in the semis, lets hope Scotland can stop shipping goals! (whats that, 8 in 3 games in these finals?)
  25. It'll be interesting if the UEFA wage cap rules do come in. If they are limited to a percentage of turnover (which was mooted) then they'll be stuffed...
