  2. Makes more sense although it's not like we sold him or were in for him recently
  3. because the players we,ve got aren't going to control games of football. It seems easier to fix the goalscoring problem through either new recruits or the current players burying chances and getting over what seems to have become a mental block. If we could start finishing then a) we'd obviously win more and b) teams would be scared of us and confidence would grow and we'd start running games more.
  4. But it's so obviously not. Our problem is finishing. All other problems lag behind this so much that seeking to address them first is mentalism Worrying? F*ck! It's just actually dawned on me that Riise has better end product than Jose. Jose seems to be obviously the better player mind.
  5. I think that's harsh as we do create chances. I know you'd like to see us exercise more control and demonstrate more guile and cunning but I think we just try and outgun everyone which actually would work if the guys didn't have a mental block about finishing.
  6. we've been without him all season and been bossed in one game
  7. no i'm really not. drop him into anyteam in the league and he's the best by a mile. we're not going to replace him or get close inquality. we need to be able to switch up styles without him.
  8. Take the question mark out of my previous sentence. It was only there for the sake of politeness.
  9. That's horrible
  10. What'd he say?
  11. Cos he's one of the finest midfielders ever produced by this country?
  12. Haha wasn't great was it.
  13. I think he's fantastic at everything until the attacking third. No full back can touch him until that point and he drives and carries the fight to that point better than anyone else. Once there we need to work on his offloading issues. He either has to give it to someone straight away or learn what sort of decisions to make. Right now he just smashes it somewhere useless or just holds on to it forever (until tackled).
  14. I'm not sure that even if Carroll and Suarez are both on form that their games complement each other. Remember that strike partnership of Brbatov and Keane. Neither was particularly going just to stay up top and neither was always going to be in the hole. They both were good at both without being specialists and that was their strength as individuals and a partnership. (Keane moves here and gets told to play behind Torres and can't. He then has to play up top and can't. Berbatov hasn't been a roaring success although you'd think he would have been able to split duties with Rooney. That might have more to do with the tempo the Mancs play at and his seeming desire to slow things down. Could be wrong.) I think the same is true of Suarez. He needs to play with himself if it's in a two because he does like leading the line for large chunks but if he's doing that then he can't have the ball all the time which he also wants. Look at how he works with Forlan. They can both do both. Even if we sign a finisher which we all want, then if their overall game isn't up to much then they'll be operating in luis' space
  15. That's not playing on the wrong side then
  16. He hasn't got an attitude. Well not a bad one. He breaks his b0ll0x to make things happen
  17. Ref brought down Agbonlahor and failed to book himself mind Woodgate set for another murdering at RB
  18. we just need to kick the ball in the net when we have the ball in front of the net. There's other things we can tinker with but they're being massively amplified by one thing. Goals, goals, goals are what we need. It's the economy of finishing stupid!
  19. Why does he do that? You've beaten the man Luis!!!!!! In fact you beaten all the men Luis, you don't to do it again!!!!!!!!! He didn't though. He mixed it up well today. The delivery wasn't consistently great but he wasn't predictable
  20. The three 2-2s? Owen was the bugger who kept missing until we went back to counter-attcking football v city and he knocked in a hattrick Finishing is without a doubt the biggest problem. If we could do it we'd be way higher up and have more confidence to exert more control.
  21. Yeah there's occassional problems in build up but there is an opposition trying to stop us. You can't say the players can't do it when they create loads. The problem is finishing. We finish at a lower standard then where we want to be. Fix that and we're set. This is all really harsh.
  22. He seems more willing to run with it down the right plus the defender is less likely to telegraph his move
  23. Nah that aint it fella
  24. I think that if Carrol is going to work here we have to sacrifice expecting him to be useful in intricate build up and just tell him to get himself up top and work on his movement to get the chances to score. The good thing about today was that he could have had two and settled the game.
