You could infer from this sentence that Carroll is adding positives which are being ignored. It's not the case. He's being super rubbish at football. fair enough but I think I was approaching it more from the viewpoint of something happening at work similar to what the Patrice Evra situatiine on may be. I'd imagine that someone getting beaten up because of their race or I dunno a mad woman screaming racially motivated hatred on tube would be reported to the police

Because I find that when you're in a white dominated place accusing someone white of racism or even pointing it out is really tiring and marks you out and when you are trying to get on with your life/work you don't always want to get involved. This is despite the irony being that you would be able to get on with your life in a better fashion were there to be no racism.

I'm not sure that he has ever filed a complaint before No one/hardly anyone goes to the police because they were called something racist. I got called a "black c*nt"* by a collegue once and the furthest thing from my mind was to go to the police and had I approached my bosses and they said go to the police I would have thought "No! You deal with it here and now. Don't cop out and don't put me through the hassle" *no I hadn't done anything to deserve it which I'm sure is where some minds immediately headed

Which is all great but the point is is that if Suarez has used a term with reference to race then it's not as if Evra has literally just sat there and completely made something up. It may not be a racist term but I don't know how anyone can propose in good conscience that this is the issue about which you make an example over someone for generating a false racism claim. IF he's said that to the ref then the ref needs to get after him.
