I really hate this 'Gerrard in the middle' campaign. It's screwing our captain's head (then again he should've be so easily influenced. But we all know what an insecure boy he is) Of course Gerrard can playing in the center. If he had Roy Keane playing behind him of course he can! We can't afford him doing it because our other options in central midfield are Alonso and Sissoko, neither player are 'all-round' enough to cover for Gerrard. It's a team game!! Before he can clone a Momo and put Xabi's brain in him. Gerrard will have to make do playing on the flanks. And why not? Nedved and Zidane were the best midfield players in the last 10 years, few would argue that. And they both played on the flanks which allowed them to roam free and attack!

Gerrard was awful yesterday. He was constantly clogging up the middle of the pitch and giving the ball away very often in the first half. There was even one incident when we were passing the ball around in midfield, and somehow he actually moved back and tried to pick up the ball from a left back's position and then ping it away. He's going through a bad period (needless to say), and I think a lot of that has got to do with his mentality, even if he thinks he should be in central midfield (or as the clueless media has drummed the idea into him). The simple fact is, Gerrard has been completely unprofessional and have constantly ignored what he needs to do when he's employed in right midfield for our club. It's even beyond the point of whether he's more effective in the middle or the right. As much as I hate to say it, Gerrard's performance last night reminded me a lot of Beckham in his post-2002 days for England, wandering in the middle of the pitch wanting to dictate the way the team plays, yet destroying the team's shape by doing that.

Spot on mate. We have good players and probably the best manager in football. For those who think they know better needs to have their heads examined.
