Personally Zidane to me is a wonderful player who let himself down badly on his wonderful swan song. That's the dissapointment for me. The romantic in me wanted to see him lift the world cup again. Simply because there isn't enough heros in this world. Materazzi is a pikey but I'm sure Zidane has had to listen to that kind of crap all his life. In one way it's a compliment. Only the good players get booed and abused by opposition players and fans as they hate them for what they could do to their team. On another day he would have shrugged it off and if he had a cooler head could have sorted it out in the dressing room if it really bothered him that much. Thing is no ones perfect and he lost it for a moment. So he's human. Big deal. He's still a great player.

I totally agree. It's pathetic. Shearer etc. all harping on about diving and how it never goes on in England. My a***. J Cole must be up there with Ronaldo for diving but it's never mentioned. Don't get me started on Drogba. All of a sudden we have every knock or fall by Ronaldo played over and over so the British media can justify their hatred and shift blame from one manc t*** to another. The funny thing is Rooney will be hailed as a hero and be given free reign to yet again not learn from the situation. Come the Euros in 08 he'll do the same thing again and we'll have Shearer, Wright etc. crying about how poor the tourney is (after England get knocked out of course) and that IF only England didn't lose the head again how they'd be in the final. Note to everyone baiting Ronaldo: Diving did not knock England out of the world cup. Playing like a bunch of girl guides and losing the head and stamping on a fellow pro's knackers did.....and of course an amazing ability to a*** up penos. Makes me laugh and dispair in equal measure.

What red mist am I looking through? He got sent off for stamping on the groin of another player. Fact. Rooney didn't step he kicked out at the player. Fact. The ref was about 2 foot away and watching. Fact. Sven and the Ref both said it was for the stamp and why would they both lie? Stamping will get you a red. Fact. Rooney is a hot head and Ronaldo didn't do jack to get him sent off as he's very good at that himself. Hell he even won me some money as I said he'd be off before the end.

What exactly did he do to Rooney to get him sent off? Did he tell him to stamp on Carvaliho? The fact that Ronaldo told him before the game that he was going to get him sent off for me means Rooneys an ever bigger c*** than I previously thought. By the time Ronaldo walked up to Rooney he was already getting a red so it's a none starter.

Argentina look class so far in all departments. Spain looked a little weak yesterday compared to the free rolling team I saw in the first game. Not 100% sure of thieir defence. I think Holland will get better as the tournament goes on. Surprised by Brazil but I think they'll turn it around. The shock of the tournament I think will be england getting really far due to having such an easy ride so far. I can see them getting to the final some how playing ale house footie.

This Argie team is the most balanced compact exciting international team I can remember seeing. Their is nothing missing from the team and the subs they can bring on. Oh and Sorin is a class attacking LB.
