I'd love to know why Valencia let him go for so little and why only Everton were in for him. Surely he can't have improved that much in such a short space of time? Poor poor scouting especially by teams like ManU who are screaming out for a player like him right now.

It's great to be able to rest players like Gerrard for the first time and not be weakened. I think Gerrard would have picked up an injury at some stage this season if he continued like he did last season week in week out playing lung bustin games. If we played one up front or 3 at the back all 3 could play no problem. Or simply play Gerrard on the right where he's great. Eitherway this trio can always be fresh which is brilliant, plus at some stage someone will pick up a knock or a suspension (Sissoko)

Just read my drunken post. oops. Every player looked like they can make something happen. Ya know. Speedy, Pennant, Sissoko with his tackling, Kewell we know, Aggar tidy on the ball, Bellamy, crouch etc. Their was not one player in the first half (some of which are second string) that you thought " just get rid....give it to so and so quickly" It's wonderful. We look incredibly balanced all over and players like Pennant who I thought might get a bit nervous have just taken to the pass and move like they were always meant to be playing in such a team. Great stuff.

Big step up from pre season. If only Rafa had Chelseas funds when hunting for players we'd be laughing. This is what pissed me off about their goal. Mourinho regardless of all the money he has was reduced to hoofing it all game. I'm pissed up but this could be wonderful for us. Our passing considering how many new players were playing was excellent. Far better than the superstars of Chelsea. I'm over the moon tonight. Considering how poor our pre season has been I would have thought putting out a really strong line up today would have been what the team needed especially with the CL game coming up. Putting out a weakened team because you are afraid the opposition might hurt your players is a strange mind set to start off with Knoz. I understand what you are saying but it still surprises me.

I understand what you're saying. Personally I don't buy either because I've got options. If I want a raggy paper that's got the same kind of stuff in it I'll just grab the mirror and avoid any dilemma. If people had a choice over sky etc. showing the football then I'd agree it could be an issue but we don't so it's a moot point. Anyway I always judge a player by what they do on the pitch and that's it. Otherwise you'll mostly be let down by your heros.

I've never understood why one is banned and the other isn't. It's the same paper run by the same people.
