Match Topic Liverpool vs Wolves - Premier League, 27th December @ 3pm
Jim D replied to ynwa.tv 's topic in Liverpool FC
Results have improved but performances are not. Slot is just treading water at the moment. Somehow we're 4th in the table with a +4 goal difference. We're no better than City or Arsenal but it's a sad indictment of the Premier League that we're probably better than the other 17 teams in the league. -
Credit to the Bitters, but yes Arsenal as a club and as a fan base have become insufferable over the past few seasons. Had a lot of respect for Arsenal as a club but since Arteta has become manager hes changed their entire identity and perception not for the better.
-
After watching the Villa Manc game gonna say we look no better than the Mancs under Amorin. Similar results, no identity, no style of play, lack of cohesion, lack of vision, lack of tactical discipline, lack of performances, both managers barely surviving on results alone.
-
That's the frightening thing, what the f*** does Slot do with these players in training? The coaching must be non existent.

Somehow, and we're not a good team. We're predictable, slow, boring, can't manage games, soft underbelly, weak mentality and no style of play. That was a garbage performance, no excuse for that clinging on against nine men Ffs! The managers tactical acumen and ability to motivate the players is not even in question anymore it's obvious. -

Yeah I'm back in the sacking territory, I've seen Liverpool win games over the years playing s***e but that was pathetic. -
I'm back in the sacking territory, that was f***ing awful tonight. Passive, slow, no aggression, no urgency, 2-0 up against 10 men and then clinging on at 2-1 against 9 men in stoppage time. Results are getting better but performances and mentality are not. Absolutely awful despite the three points.

A win is a win but my God performance and mentality wise that was f***ing shocking. Sorry folks we're just papering over the cracks now. Don't let these past few results deceive you. -

We're the f***ing champions, what else did he expect? It's up to him to find a way to break it down with fast intricate passing or some players capable of smashing one in from 25 yards. We only look good if the opposition start coming onto us. Against low block we've been found out all season. -

Like watching serie A. -
That's it, what is our style of play? What exactly are we trying to do? When the opposition sit back in large numbers we look clueless in how to break them down.

Poor b*****d, he walked off so perhaps it's not as bad as first feared. Any news?

Two wins on the bounce unbeaten in 4? Whisper it quietly we might be slowly starting to come out of this rut. I wanted him gone but I'm now on the fence. It's a promising revival but every defeat from now on will bring his managerial position into question again. -

Tonight's win has guaranteed us a place in the knockout stages. All be it the playoffs. Christ we're a Jekyll and Hyde side at the moment. -
Well done Arne, good Liverpool away performance in Europe. I said I wanted him gone but only because I've seen no signs of him turning it around. We'll see at the weekend whether this is the start of much needed winning streak.

Well I was expecting us to get battered but the fact we've come away from the San Siro with all three points tells me maybe Slot can turn this around. It's something we can really build upon. -
It was the right call to leave out Mo for the trip because you cannot have any player in the squad trying to undermine the manager. You're sending a message to the other players that speaking out against the club and manager will not be tolerated. However I have sympathy for Mo, he's just seeing what we can all see out there on the pitch. We've been mediocre since March and nothing has changed. We're playing the same way, with players making the same fundamental mistakes and we appear to have no style of play. I've been waiting for Slot to turn this all around, he's had plenty of games to show he can do that but as of yet I've seen no evidence he can get us out of this adversity. In my opinion Slot should've already gone, I think he has lost the majority of the dressing room.
-
Aye and you must include the tail end of last season because that is the norm right now not the exception. We're just papering over the cracks of our current predicament if we exclude them from the equation.
-
In 2025 we've played 51 Won 26, 50% win ratio. In the past 365 days we've played 59 and conceded 81 goals.
-
Agreed, he's sounding like Brendan Rodgers now in the post match press conferences. I don't think he has a clue how to remedy the situation. I bet Mo's name will be sung more at the next home game than Arne's. Mo isn't responsible for our collapse, it's the manager, Arne bought himself some time after winning the title last season but that goodwill is fast eroding away. We lose our next home game I'll bet they'll be some booing from the crowd.
-
True but I'm expecting the same old s***e, that Leeds equaliser took me over the edge I'm afraid, I want him gone now. I so badly wanted him to turn this around because he won us the league just a few months ago. But a true managers character and test is when you go through a spell of adversity and can come out of it on the other side. Klopp proved that time and time again, Slot has failed to do it, we're not going to get better.
-
I'm sure what happened in the summer has had some effect, but Slot was given a warchest that no other Liverpool manager has had in the entire history of the club. He should be getting more out of the likes of Wirtz, Isak and Kerkez. It's on him, no one else. Salah is just saying what an increasing number of Liverpool fans have been saying about the manager. The fans are the club. Our next home game is going to be interesting. What is clear is Arne is starting to slowly lose the Anfield crowd. Once those boos start raining down from the terraces he's a goner.
-
Even though I don't agree with what Mo did, more so the timing and the nature of what he did. But at the end of the day where we are in the League table has nothing to do with Salah. Slot is the one who picks the team, picks the tactics, makes the substitutions, responsible for our style of play, our lack of creativity, our lack of defensive solidity, continually giving away two goal leads, conceding goals in stoppage time, motivates the players, and telling the players to play in this slow lethargic build up. Yes no one is bigger than the club but those who are having a go at Salah for speaking out, neither is Slot. Slot is responsible for where we are right now. He's taken a championship winning team, spent 400 million quid in the summer and turned us into mid table mediocrity in the space of a few months. It's f***ing unforgivable and disgraceful. If Mo has to go so be it, I generally agree players cannot undermine the manager but at the same time Slot should go to. He should do the honourable thing, take responsibility in what he has has done and resign.
