I think technically he's good. What he doesn't have is the drive, intensity and anticipation to get regularly involved in a positive way in the game. If you don't get the ball to him in a great position, he won't do much to make something happen. Which means in a team like united, the game will mostly pass him by.

He surely did. Mane's non scoring output was tracking back, carrying the ball from deep, taking people on and being a general menace.
