is the first for a while where we've not had the worry about a key player jumping the ship isn't it? two seasons of gerrard will he / won't he soap opera nonsense, the owen silliness. . . .is anyone remotely concerned that we're going to lose a key player in a shock transfer this summer? arsenal are sweating over henry and even fabregas to a degree, mancs are probably going to ship van nistelrooy and even chelsea have a bit of uncertainty over lampard. isn't it nice to be looking at a close-season positively for a change?

thinking more about the press focus on our squad really. . . .there doesn't seem to be the urge to destabilise our squad as previously, primarily i guess because it's clear that rafa's taking us very swiftly in the right direction. under-achieving isn't a tag that can be thrown at us so readily any more.

We've already had Gerrard for Juve and Gerrard for Madrid.

There's also the Real Madrid elections which will see th likes of Adriano, Henry and Gerrard dragged in as voting incentives.

everyone knows that they're a load of old bolllocks though really don't they? don't think madrid as a club has the allure it had a few seasons ago.

it wasn't a press effort it's because gerrard and owen wanted to leave

i reckon you will see an unsettling story or two at the end of this week, in an attempt to unsettle the sqaud before the cup final

something you have heard about ? or just making assumptions about the nature of our 'lovely' national press?
