Swipe Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Is the awards Ceremony on SKY tomorrow actually LIVE, or is it a recording from tonight ? If its live tomorrow then the offal really are being cocky...
Guest roger Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 My Branch voted JC as LFC player of the year. But he aint the type to win this type of award.
Maldini Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Carra would be 4th or 5th in my player of the year order TBH
Jim D Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Seen other sets of supporters are moaning by saying Gerrard hasn't been the best player this season in the Premiership.Unfortunately what they fail to notice it is the PFA Player of the "Year" so the award takes into account of what that player did/achieved in the calendar year 2005. Based on that, Gerrard is the deserved winner. Well done!
Jarg Armani Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 have they given rooney the bonny baby rosette?
LondonLiverpoolFan Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 have they given rooney the bonny baby rosette? According to Sporting Life he has been.
Maldini Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 He's been the best player this season and in the calendar year
Swipe Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 He's been the best player this season and in the calendar year Exactly.
Spike Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 and without jumping the gun he's more likely to be have lifted the most trophies than any other player between 25th May 05 and 25th May 06
Billy Dane Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Best player by a country mile this year I reckon. His part in the second half in Istanbul will have influenced a lot of people. He seems to have enjoyed his football this season, having finally made the decision to stay as well.
bigdave50uk Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 sometimes people seem to forget how lucky we are to have him.Well in stevie, hopefully the first of many
Swipe Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 For some reason, the shot of Rafa giving instructions to Stevie late in yesterdays game, and Stevie dashing back onto the pitch barking at his teammates was fantabulous to see BBC says Rooney appears to be favourite. They've had that up all day. But if the offal are wrong on this one......
Maldini Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 For some reason, the shot of Rafa giving instructions to Stevie late in yesterdays game, and Stevie dashing back onto the pitch barking at his teammates was fantabulous to see Yeah, it implied a level of trust between the two of them that wasn't there last season. He would've said it to Xabi.
Mevster Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 my favourite player gets his just rewards congrats stevie!!! next time youre in town, give us a bell, ill buy you drink
Swipe Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 Yeah, it implied a level of trust between the two of them that wasn't there last season. He would've said it to Xabi. Was great to see. Steven has looked very happy this season. Bring back the FA Cup, and that's a rather good season for young Gerrard!!
Guest Jack Bauer Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Don't the nominations get done in Feb (Think I read on TLW that Chelsea ripped theirs up)? Probably why he got it.
Mike Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 and carras in the team of the year in defence well in boys
Elisha_Scott Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 It would be very embarassing if they did. Could they have had an early heads-up from Stevie himself, or from the PFA? Would he or anyone else know in advance of the announcement at the PFA dinner tonight? Why do you think he is there? Gordon Taylor informs the shortlisted few whether their attendance is desired or required. If required, then you are pretty sure of getting something.
Bjarkinn Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 (edited) great job Stevie lad, well deserved what about reina, isn't he in the team of the year Edited April 23, 2006 by Bjarkinn
Herbie von Smalls Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 not to piss on stevie's parade or anything, but i reckon the fact there were 3 chelsea players plus wayne rooney nominated for both categories, made it easier for him to scoop the award. not that he doesn't deserve it, but it'll be interesting to see the number of votes for each nominee. bravo stevie! here's to many more.

Doesn't go like that though does it? They're there on the shortlist because the votes have already been case so the winner is known when the nominees are announced. Or so I'd thought, could be wrong.
Tones Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 far and away the best player in the premiership!!! Is spot on. Nice one Stevie, now lets have another one!
