realtarragona Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I wouldn't be surprised to see Fowler start on Wednesday. Probably alongside Crouch, although for some reason I've got a feeling it might be with Cisse. I wouldn't mind seeing that. Might force us to play the ball on the deck a bit more.
Mike Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 crouch wants benching - anything to stop us launching the f***ing ball
Barnes' left foot Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Both Crouch and Morientes should be warming the bench against Fulham. Give Fowler and Cisse a chance up front.
Jimi Rojo Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I don't want Crouchy on the pich at the moment - give the lad a break - he's getting some serious grief too from the fans too Fowler and Cisse would be worth trying, Fowler is intelligent enough to pick him out and lay chances on. Fowler needs a run of games and he too will score.
Guest l21 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Both Crouch and Morientes should be warming the bench against Fulham. Give Fowler and Cisse a chance up front. I'd give Calliste a chance upfront, not that I've seen him play or anything I am just so pissed off with our forwards apart from Robbie.
John am Rhein Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Fowler needs a run of games That'll be his epitaph.
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Very strange this, Fowler is the only striker on the books who look at all dangerous when the ball comes near him. I believe that if he keeps this up he will get himself a new contract. As for the rest, clear the lot of them out and bring back pongolle. Buy one class striker if we can get them afford them. get another backup striker and rotate between the new guy, fowler and pongolle as our main ones. Hopefully gonzalez's work permit can be sorted out for next season, and bingo .. we have an improved first 11
Ombudsam Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Very strange this, Fowler is the only striker on the books who look at all dangerous when the ball comes near him. By default.
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 There's no doubt Robbie is pretty much useless these days. Ged was spot on for getting rid. But I like having Robbie around, he's like a piece of furniture or ornament you have at your home that you know is useless but you still can't do without it. That's Robbie for me. have to totally disagree with you on one point there. I blame Fowlers decline on 2 things , successive injuries and Houlliers complete and utter failure to help Fowler back into the team by playing him in bits and pieces of games etc... Fowlers attitude wasnt always lax, and i think that the few years that that crap was going on has taken some of the spirit out of the man ... to say that it cant come back in lunacy. He needs time and as i've already stated I think he's doing just fine so far... he needs more games and needs to work hard in training. It'd probabaly be nice too if half the fans weren't writing him off before he's even started
Guest Anders Honoré Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 have to totally disagree with you on one point there. I blame Fowlers decline on 2 things , successive injuries and Houlliers complete and utter failure to help Fowler back into the team by playing him in bits and pieces of games etc... revision. Fowler got an extended run in the team when he first came back and was s**** for a fair while, much like Owen did. Second time around, not so extended but he nonetheless got a fair shot. he started more league games than any of our other strikers in the season he left.
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I wouldn't be surprised to see Fowler start on Wednesday. Probably alongside Crouch, although for some reason I've got a feeling it might be with Cisse. I agree with this. If I were in charge Crouch would have played his last game for us. I don't like Cisse too much but ya know he does score more than the others... he needs to get a few starts in alongside an intelligent player like Fowler..
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 This is bulls***. The lad has barely had a chance yet. The last two games, he's had a total of about 30 minutes on the pitch and he was used away at Benfica (with Morientes, not Crouch) from the start when we played like a bunch of muppets. He has "scored" three goals in six games in a team that can barely create a clear cut chance at the moment. Arsenal shat themselves when he came on yesterday. All this, while he is gaining fitness having not had a pre-season or in fact a game of any kind for the first five months of the season. People who are questioning Robbie are a f***ing disgrace. I agree completely
Bootle Buck Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Fowler wasn't brought back to be the solution to all our striking problems rather to add another option. Unfortunately, he has come back at a time were there is a glaring awareness all around that our other strikers are not going to get the goals needed. Therefore, everyone expects him to slot straight in start banging in goals. Like Morientes last season he came in in January without a pre-season and very few games and will probably not get his form and fitness this season. To expect anything else is ridiculous.
McBain Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 We signed him I imagine because Rafa realised our forward line was in trouble (though I dont think he realised just how much) and we needed another alternative. And with us being skint and Robbie free and on low wages it made decent sense
fyds Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 He's put the ball in the net 3 times. And at least two of those three should have stood.
Ombudsam Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Our strikers are f*cking schit. They're w*nk. They really are.
stressederic Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Our strikers are f*cking schit. They're w*nk. They really are. But what do you really think?
McBain Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Our strikers are f*cking schit. They're w*nk. They really are. I'm reminded of the end of the 99/00 season. Where we ended the season playing like we couldn't hit the broad side of a cows banjo And just as then we have a last day game against a team who might need to win to stay up
Ombudsam Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I'm reminded of the end of the 99/00 season. Where we ended the season playing like we couldn't hit the broad side of a cows banjo And just as then we have a last day game against a team who might need to win to stay up That fowler was better than this one and all. Why are they so bad. Why WHY WHY. I don't get it almost every team has someone who can score goals bar us. It's f*cking ridculous. How can they all be so bad. Crouch looks like he doesn't know what to do in front of goal. Morientes is a f*cking bottler who schits out of engaging at the deep end. Cisse is so supremely w*nk and fowler can play 20mins. What a shocking collection. How did we fecking wind up here after winning Big ears. The rest of the team is fine and progressing but a theird of it just isn't coming close to fulfilling it's f*cking remit. Thank f*ck for the F.A cup otherwise i'd be waiting for the end of the season so we can just get shot and start again. If one of those threads appears which says something like "Is scoring goals really that important in a game of football" then that'll be me gone.
Ripley Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 If one of those threads appears which says something like "Is scoring goals really that important in a game of football" then that'll be me gone. But you would subscribe to the theory that crossing is pointless?
Ombudsam Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 But you would subscribe to the theory that crossing is pointless? it is when none of your strikers con shut
stressederic Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 But you would subscribe to the theory that crossing is pointless? At the moment, or just in general?
