Debut joy for Reds' Gonzalez Feb 6 2006

Liverpool Echo

MARK GONZALEZ came off the bench to score the winner in a 2-1 victory over Real Mallorca on his league debut for Real Sociedad.

The winger, who was sent out on loan by Liverpool after failing to land a work permit, handed new Sociedad coach Gonzalo Arconada the perfect start.

Morten Skoubo had put Sociedad in front but the visitors equalised in the 34th minute through Leandro Pisculichi.

Very impressive considering he has been out for so long with a serious injury.

roll on next season.....double euro champs win the league...sounds good doesn't it

Looking forward to seeing him at Liverpool. Apparently in tests they did at the club, he was the fastest player, even faster than Cisse.

Like I've said before - I'd liken him to Overmars myself. I knew he was quick, but faster than Cisse...:o

If there's one thing you can say about Djibs, he's lightning fast. Being quicker than him, with Gonzalez's ability on the ball as well, he'll be frightening...
