The player I am looking forward to seeing next season more than anyone else

Fully fit and flying and dont see another midfielder in the league who can handle him.

I do think he is at at a crossroads in his career tho.

If we could start the season and look the part and look like we can challenge he HAS to perform.

I think Stevie will be over the moon with our clubs fast track progress since Kenny joined in January. He lives and breathes LFC and always watches matches whenever he isn't playing.

Liverpool FC this afternoon issued the following statement:

Steven Gerrard today began a course of antibiotic treatment for an infection related to an ongoing groin problem.

He is expected to remain in hospital for several days while the precautionary procedure is completed.

The player will then return to Melwood to continue his rehabilitation programme and is expected to be available for selection in September.

There is zero medium or long term benefit in rushing him back. He is at an age, and seemingly in a condition, where he will need to be carefully managed to ensure he can perform to his maximum as often as possible. I'd be surprised if we see him back before October.

A bacterial infection post-surgery is a lot better than say, a flare up of the actual injury. Its annoying and unlucky but it could've been worse I guess.

Unless it's a new operation that we didn't know about. He said he'd be back in 5 weeks, that was 2 months ago.

He needs to tell England to f*** off after the euros aswell.

He should probably tell them to f*** off before it to be honest, for the good of his career long term.
