Burnley and Chelsea will be moved to the sunday (chelsea will surely be on Sky anyway) if the West Ham game isn't moved to ESPN's Saturday slot (which it can't be because of Spurs V Chelsea) that will mean we won't have another Saturday game this season and the last 1 we had was against the blue s**** ont he 6th Feb, the last 3pm Saturday was Bolton the week before

I don't know if Liverpool have the option to move the West Ham game or not as the Athletico game is three days after.

we've already played twice on monday this season before uefa cup games

I know, but non of those Thursday games have been a semi-final.

I'm f*cking lovin' this. Games on a Thursday, and 3pm on a Sunday. Fixture congestion. UEFA cup. Lovely stufff. Reminds me of 2001.

We'll win it and nick 4th on the last day to boot.

Hardly anyone is out and about though on a Thursday, which is annoying.

Chelsea is pencilled in for 13:30 on the Sunday 2nd May.

Also, out of our 38 PL games, only 7 kick-off at 3pm on a Saturday.

29th Aug - Bolton away

12th Sep - Burnley home

26th Sep - Hull home

17th Oct - Sunderland away

31st Oct - Fulham away

5th Dec - Blackburn away

30th Jan - Bolton home

In fact our last Saturday fixture of any kind was Everton at home on Feb 6th. We wont have another Saturday fixture till next season.

I hate all these thursday-sunday fixtures

I hope we don't qualify for the europa next year. Winning it this year will do fine.

Where do we have to finish to miss out on europe altogether, seeing as we are now not going to get fourth?

We can concentrate on winning the league next year under mourinho

only floor in that argument is that winning it would mean qualifying for next years competition, think we'd need to finish 8th anyway to not qualify

5th place qualifies automatically

6th place qualifies because of Mancs winning Carling Cup

7th place will qualify because Chelsea V Pompey in FA Cup Final, I don't think Portsmouth can play in Europe because of being in administration or similar I heard a few weeks back

but what is the ceiling in my argument? :bleh:

no, thanks that's helpful - so basically if I understand you right we are pretty much stuck with the europa next season whatever happens now? (unless we get 4th obv, or we finish 8th and don't win the damn thing)

knew I'd spelt it wrong but couldn't think for the life of me the right way to spell it!!

yeah we're stuck with Europa for next year too, personally I think if we win it this year, then next year up until the later stages it should be used as a competition to get the youngsters playing

We can relax in the West Ham and (Especially) the Chelsea fixtures now.

Fourth has gone. Regardless of our result yesterday - it went when Manchester City won.

I'd play the kids for both fixtures. Good bit of experience. Rest the lads for the European games. And hopefully lose 14-0 to Chelsea guaranteeing them the league title.

Mancs end up with the League Cup. We might end up with a UEFA Cup.

I honestly think Chelsea will have the league won by the time they come to ours. I think City will beat the Mancs this weekend.
