Spirit Of Shankly Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 The Spirit of Shankly have published the latest release of the meeting with George Gillett and a Union member http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/George...ies-Part-2.html
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Will calling Gillett a liar make him up sticks and leave? I seriously doubt it. Failing to see the point of these youtube things to be honest
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Will calling Gillett a liar make him up sticks and leave? I seriously doubt it. Failing to see the point of these youtube things to be honest it helps to keep fans informed. and what harm does it do? there are snide remarks every time the SOS do anything.
muleskinner Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Will calling Gillett a liar make him up sticks and leave? I seriously doubt it. Failing to see the point of these youtube things to be honest Let them ride roughshod over the club, taking the piss out of the fans and not try to make them accountable then yeah?
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I'm not questioning the goal of SOS - I've just have doubts about the whole youtube angle - I doubt that there is many fans on the internet that don't know about the current state of things with Hicks & Gillett - I mean I have seen this guys interview posted on every single forum I have visited.

There are loads and loads on forums who just dont seem to give a f*** or are actually supportive. On est1892 for example the owners seem to have an incredible amount of a*** lickers. And anyone who explains the situation seems to get shot down. These f***ing idiots need it drumming into them.
Maldini Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 You'd be surprised Ethan, loads of people just shut off when the topic of the owners comes up. Something simple like this is easier to digest. It's also good for dispersal to the media.

Cheers - a decent response at last.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Cheers - a decent response at last. you say that as if your own post was just a simple question, which it wasn't. even if the 'Youtube thing' was a complete waste of time, it's not your time, is it? and it's not stopping them doing anything else. you were sniping for the sake of it.
Mike Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 OK I beg for forgiveness f*** me... im serious. so what if YOU have seen it on every forum you've visited?
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I just think there are better things that can be done. What about picketing and not letting SKY cameras make it to the ground on a match day - that won't affect the team but it would damn sure give a lot more focus than a youtube campaign. If Sky were unable to broadcast the LFC V Mancs game tomorrow SOS would have the world as an audience.
Des Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Yeah, they should then demand $5,000,000 in used banknotes and a private jet to Cuba.
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Yeah, they should then demand $5,000,000 in used banknotes and a private jet to Cuba. Fair enough - lets youtube them out of the club
Falconhoof Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I just think there are better things that can be done. What about picketing and not letting SKY cameras make it to the ground on a match day - that won't affect the team but it would damn sure give a lot more focus than a youtube campaign. If Sky were unable to broadcast the LFC V Mancs game tomorrow SOS would have the world as an audience. Aside from the fact that thats illegal and would have the police down the ground dragging picketers away, aside from that...If your ideas are better than existing SOS ideas then you need to get involved and make them happen don't you ? If I thought I had some good ideas i'd be in touch with SOS who can get people on the ground to organise these things a lot better than I can.
Jarg Armani Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Fair enough - lets youtube them out of the club They aren't JUST doing youtube videos. The march has been getting great national coverage this week. Snipe snipe snipe.
Farmer's Tan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 im serious. so what if YOU have seen it on every forum you've visited? i assume he means that at this stage it's preaching to the choir
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 i assume he means that at this stage it's preaching to the choir No I'm just sniping mate - nothing else
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 No I'm just sniping mate - nothing else yes, you are. tell me what harm the youtube videos do.
redjersey Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 They aren't JUST doing youtube videos. The march has been getting great national coverage this week. There's been loads of coverage but it's being widely reported that SoS hope 10,000 will march. They might hope that, but I'm sure they don't realistically expect it. We could well end up with a fraction of that number, and the protest written off as a flop.
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 yes, you are. tell me what harm the youtube videos do. exactly they are doing no harm
sean Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 exactly they are doing no harm Oh wind your neck in, if you have any alternative means of protestation, I'm sure those that are participating and initiating would be 'all ears'
Spirit Of Shankly Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 The Union has not said anywhere that it expects 10000. That is a media thing made up. If we get what we got last year, then great. All we're doing is protesting and trying to educate.
fyds Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 exactly they are doing no harmThen offer up something bigger, better and thought through which doesn't end up with Mr baton saying hello to fans' heads and garner a shedload of negative publicity for the fans.
