Palermo defender Simon Kjaer says he would not turn down a move to Manchester United just because he is a Liverpool fan.

The Red Devils are reportedly keeping tabs on the Denmark international, who has been linked with a number of top clubs in the past, including Real Madrid and Liverpool.

While the centre-back is a Liverpool fan, he has admitted that if his chances to play regularly at Old Trafford were greater he would opt for the Red Devils.

The 20-year-old told Tipsbladet: "If United just had two defenders whilst Liverpool had three, I would choose United without hesitation.

"It does not help to choose with the heart in that kind of situation. I am a professional."

Really good with the potential to be one of the best.

Broke into Palermo's first team at 18 and was a regular starter at 19 which is impressive for a centre back. I don't think he's ready for a top 4 club in England yet but in a few years I think he will be.

His dad is a mad Liverpool-supporter.

are him and agger the first choice partnership denmark?

Probably, yes. There's been so many injuries in the last year or so that there really isn't a settled partnership at the moment, but after Martin Laursen's retirement I'd say Kjaer is probably next in line to partner Agger. Unless Olsen wants to go for the extra experience that Krøldrup offers. And yes, that's the Krøldrup of Everton shame.

There's no chance of Krøldrup being first choice. He hasn't even played when everyone's been injured. Anders Møller Christensen and Kjær played the last time, if I'm not mistaking?

Agger and Kjær = the way to go. :)

Simon Kjær's dad should have a word with him. No Liverpool fan would ever want to play for them c****!

In the news yesterday about an icelandic kid (born in '93) where he said he turned down an offer to train with Manchester United, he told that he could not see himself running down the tunnels of Anfield wearing an Manchester shirt. This kid is absolutely full of potential, hoping Liverpool do have him on trial

So we should wait until he's £20m more expensive ?!

We tried for Kjaer already, think he might have even been on trial with us. He chose to go to Italy instead though.

He had a trial at Real a couple of years ago. He wasn't even a regular at FC Midtjylland when they sold him.

Agger and him really have the potential to form a great partnership for Denmark. And, maybe, Liverpool. :P

Pretty sure that deal was already done by the time we got to him, Mal. Something to do with Morten Olsen putting the word out to us after the fact if I remember right.

Watched the game and the lad had a very good one.

Ole Gunnar Solkjaer (or however you spell it) was in the Norweign branch of the Liverpool supporters club

Fixed his name.

Torby & Co sent the supporters club fanzine, Kopite, to OT for a year, until it finally started to be sent back.
