The Spirit of Shankly have collated responses from members in relation to the recent meeting we had with Ian Ayre, Commercial Director of Liverpool Football Club in the form of a memo.

This was forwarded to Ian Ayre earlier today and is available for members to read at http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/Memo-to-Ian-Ayre.html

that's excellent and well put across. One thing though, the 308 email/members number would have been well put into context of the SOS membership (although you may have done that and it didn't stack up). I'm not yet an SOS member but share the sentiments of your letter to Ian Ayre.

Ah the season ticket waiting list. I've been on that since 1995. Nice to know it may not even exist. I've tried writing to the ticket office about it on numerous occasions but without much success.

On a related note season tickets are effectively a closed shop. I might get one if we ever get the new stadium but a kid growing up now will probably never get one. Personally I find that a bit depressing and unfair.

Out of the 308 emails you got, how many were from OOTers?

I believe OOTers can benefit from new arrangements.

I still have a ST for when I go to Anfield so I am not directly affected by the abolishment of the PTS. When I last spoke with Ian he explained what he hoped would happen re loyalty, and it wold be fair to all. If this happens the lack of PTS is irrelevant.

To all at SoS.

I'm one of the few on YNWA not affiliated to SoS who has constantly stood up for you.

At this moment there are not enough different words amounting to 'w*****s' that I would like to apply to you.

Stop getting distracted by meetings with senior personnel at the club. Stop getting distracted by issues like tickets and prices, let alone major parties and piss ups. Get your heads out of your f***ing arses and concentrate on what you are supposed to be about.

Lets hear more about getting rid of Statler and Wldorf and lets have more rallys, demonstrations and boycotts organized.

The action of a few people to Cohen and his Hillsborough s**** is making your cause and organisation look like a joke; you seem more interested in self aggrandizement.

'Help us ObiWan SoS; you're our only hope.'

This next month will go down in our clubs history as one of it's most defining moments, with the RBS loan being re-negotiated and you are f***ing about debating ticket prices.

To you maybe but as a member or ex member of the PTS who paid £55 a year for being a member of it, it wasn't free, i think it is very relevant and if you want it to be fair to all why not do away with season ticketst* and make tickets available to all based on a loyalty scheme. It may adversely affect you but it would be fair to all, that is the natural extension to your argument.

Why not show some loyalty to the members of the scheme who bought tickets regularly and if people aren't using change the rules so they lose their membership and others could then join it, I'm sorry but your argument and that of Ian Ayre rides rough shod over supporters who have been members of the PTS for years.

Oh and I'm an OOTer and I know other members of the PTs who were OOTers as well, so its not benefiting them or me.

* I am not suggesting they actually do that or think its a good idea.

am not currently a member of SoS and have concerns....but f*** me thats pathetic.....

SoS addressing the type of issues they are doing is EXACTLY what a supporters union should be doing

Good work SoS.......

Flight, get a f***ing grip

jesus h christ. you total utter c***.

f*** you, you prick.

Because I don't share your understanding of what they were established for ? I understood their primary objective was to get rid of Statler and Waldorf. Looking at their website now and judging them on their actions of this, most crucial, period in our clubs history, that doesn't seem to be the case, any longer.

If they've 'given up' on what was once their primary objective and now all they are is a supporters union, then I'm in full agreement. The OP is fantastic stuff. Who is going to stand up to G&H now, though.

sorry you you are acting like the prick here

SoS should be addressing supporters issues, and whilst G&H are one, life goes on and the type of issues they are talking to the club about are ones which fans need looking after

good on SoS

Like I said, if all SoS are these days is a supporters club, then the OP is fantastic stuff.

But what happened to their primary objective of getting G&H out ?

A few good months on the pitch and we all forget what the pair of scabs who own us are really like.

nobody has forgotten about them but a Supporters Union has to address live issues

If I join, I would expect them to address concerns.,...from the front page of there website

To hold whoever owns the football club to account.

To improve the quality of service for Liverpool FCs supporters.

To improve the standard and value of travel arrangements for Liverpool FCs supporters.

To build links with grassroots supporter groups.

Everything you listed is spot on ... for a supporters union.

However, their original primary objective was to get rid of G&H. For the longest time they have not been able to have that in black and white, for legal reasons.

If all they are now is a supporters union, with just the aims as listed on their website (which I alluded to before you listed them) then they're doing a great job - within that remit.

I'm just sad that they've lost sight of their original aim and are getting constantly side tracked.

Just as matter of interest, I was told that if my renewal application wasn't in by the deadline date, then I would miss out, even if it arrived the day after. On the deadline date itself, I rang up to say my application was in the post but it would be delayed owing to a postal strike where I live. "That's okay," was the reply. "Anytime next week will do." Sometimes you have to wonder!! :hmm:

there used to be an 'immediate aim' listed among that lot. is that no longer on the website?

well if there was I am glad they have changed it

a supporters union should not be a pressure group with one purpose, it has to represent the support and pressure the club to look after the best interests of the club, whoever is in charge
