Gerrard vs Lampard

In some years gone by, there was a debate about Gerrard & Lampard and who was the better.

 

Obviously the only conclusion on LFC sites Gerrard.

 

But in the wider community, how has that debate developed ?

 

I notice that McLaren played Gerrard in the more withdrawn role with Lampard given the more freedom in the national team but in the reign of Capello, Gerrard has been given licence to run games with Rooney.

 

Is there any school of thought in England that still sees Lampard as the better player ?

Having said that, Lampard has been immense this season. Gerrard is a cut or two above him though.

Gerrard and Rooney should be interchangeable on the field for England, they wreak havoc.

That would mean Rio Ferdinand lifting the World Cup though. Couldn't you arrange for Ferdinand to be injured on someone's birthday (preferably his) in your dream so Gerrard also lifts the World Cup?
