NOTW have done a sting job on Steve Bennent and he has claimed that Premiership players have asked to be booked so they rack up a suspension to miss games.

Love the idea of the refs singing YNWA in the background while this is all going on. Wonder if that's meant to be a hint that one or both of the players mentioned is ours? His description of the touches the diving player takes in the box sort of sounds like Torres. Or is the "far-flung" match a reference to United's World Club yoke?

Well he hasnt reffed any of our games this season.

He reffed Arsenal v Wigan on 6th December and Portsmouth v West Ham on 26th December.

The game on the 6th would not have got a player banned over Christmas.

Interestingly, Scott Parker and Mark Noble picked up their 5th bookings of the season in the Portsmouth v West Ham game.

Why would any player tell the ref beforehand to make sure to book him ? Surely he'd just go out & make the dirty tackle that's going to get the booking without telling anyone ? After all, Bennet hardly needs an invitation to book a player, does he?

Good news is that he'll be hung, drawn and quartered over this... I'd say he's going to be missing from the Premiership rotation for a while.
