if youre going to lose a semi final, make it when the final is in moscow and against the mancs. if there was such a thing as the perfect semi to lose, this was it.

probably saved me about 2 grand as well.

By the sounds of things it's going to be one almighty f*** up out there. Rather them than us.

UEFA sure know how to pick them. Greedy t***s.

Aye. This cloud has something of a silver lining

I actually am already over this. One of the quickest times i've ever got over a game (Strangely enough the most gutted i've been was probably Euro 96 England shoot-out loss). I don't know if it's because of the facing man united factor, or the fact we've had a lot of CL success already in recent years, but i'm not on a downer at all. We can use this. Make us stronger and mount a title challenge next year.

will Riise draw the line? Or the centre-halves?

I wanted nothing to do with the Mancs in Moscow , you just know some Red-army knob has been waiting for this day , they really are the lowest of the low. Also the lowest day I've ever had was 96 Wembley , s***e s***e day.

As I said last night, I'm not as disappointed as I thought I'd be. I think most of us, although we all did a remarkable job of hiding it, suspected the chance had gone after Anfield.

Also I look at it this way. For a long time I never thought we'd get to one European Cup Final, let alone win one and lose one in 3 years. Where Europe is concerned we can't complain with how the last four years have gone.

Rafa has the measure of the competition, but at times the smallest thing can decide the result. We've had it in our favour, last night it wasn't to be. I can live with that.

Also look at it this way. This season Arsenal, United, Chelsea and us have played:

AC Milan

Valencia

Barcelona

Inter Milan

Roma

And all of them were bloody awful. The other major European leagues are in a sorry state and the current English domination of the European Cup probably isn't going to be ending anytime soon.

We'll get our chance at the final again soon enough.

Over it...

Bring on next season - 2 or 3 quality signings, and no more 5-6 rotational changes and we'll have a good shot at the League.

Was fully prepared for getting knocked out. 3 semi-final wins out of 3, in 4 seasons, was always an outside punt.

Seems like UEFA have messed up the Visa applications.

No arrangement in place yet and up 50,000 fans wanting to travel.

Cant get a Visa without Hotel and none left. 3 weeks to sort this mess out, not a chance. Fans want to book today.

I read a while back that Wembley lost out on 2011/2012 final due to problems over tax system in this country.

UEFA wanted guarantee from Govt that it would be resolved before they award the final.

Why did they not sort out the Visa problems before awarding this years final. UEFA at its best !

Anyway, i'm not going so what do i care.

Good luck to the Manc's and Chelsea scum (murderers song was worst ive heard in ages)

Hope you get the final you both deserve

exactly, it was a reasonable run - we've only ever lost 2 semis out of 9 for gods sake.

and like i say - this was the one to lose!

onwards and upwards.

Aye, bright side all round. The thought of sharing our day in the sun with either of those c***s makes me shudder. Scum plays scum, let them get on with it and relish the misery on the faces of the losers.

Incidentally, on balance I've realised how much I'm hoping to see 'JT' and 'Lamps' sobbing their eyes out on the night.

I got a blue screen when I read that.

I'm praying they'll both be jumping for joy, whilst Ferguson's nose will drop off when he see's his last chance at European glory stolen by a manager without any coaching badges to speak of.

That's the beauty of it. Viewed the right way it's win win

The Mancs winning the European Cup is not a win-win by any stretch :nono:

Rafa would probably make Riise do it to make sure he gets the offside trap right next time.

Can't bring myself to disagree with that at all. As much as I wanted us to win, and jeebers, I did - a little voice was saying 'if we're going to lose one, this may the right one at the right time'. The idea of our fans, their fans and vodka happy Russian police and security services, none of whom are happy with the brits after the Litvinenko fracas all being hyped up...

I would advise our manc friends such as OM and NWR to avoid any temptation to go too...this time around, the TV really is safer. if 70400 wants to go though, I'll buy him a ticket for the Chelsea end myself.

Little note: After last night, the BIL called to commiserate and tell me that having been in Moscow on business a few weeks ago, a huge wodge of the 'official' UEFA non-fan allocation has apparently gone to Putin and his cronies on a grand scale, and he seems to have had a falling out with Abramovich - so that could be interesting on the night too.
