I'm finding this result difficult to take because part of me believes we were cheated. I don't subscribe to all the conspiracy theories but how come we get an absolute shocker of a decision, a decision that hands 3 pts to Utd, in a game of this importance.

I don't think there are bungs or anything going on but how come, time and again Utd get away with murder and the opposition gets punished. Is it something as simple as fear, do the FA fear Utd and in particular Ferguson.

I've never seen a player sent off for that before, it was f***ing ridiculous decision but can you ever in your wildest dream remember Utd being on the wrong end of one of those. I can't.

Or, is it staring us in the face, it happened in Italy why can it not be happening here.

I f***ing hate Man U and at this moment I f***ing hate football as well.

We don't have the right mentality. It's a simple as that. Rafa's sulk and refusal to complain after the game (taking some rubbish moral high ground) to the media must have been laughed at in the manU's dressing room as they stroll to yet another league championship.

Strangly we having the winning mentality in europe but Rafa's inability to transform it to the league is frustrating beyond belief.

Most of my mates who follow other teams like rafa. That to me tells me he's too nice.

Because fans (and I've met plenty of United fans who this applies to, probably more than Liverpool fans to be honest) generally don't see the decisions that go in their favour. They get so wrapped up in what went wrong that they don't see what went right.

It's a glass half full thing.

I don't subscribe to the attitude that referee's are bring bribed in this country to fix games because such is the media coverage of the game it would eventually be weeded out. However what I do believe is the Mancs do get a lot of favourable decisions by referees.

Can anyone remember a major/big decision ever going against the Mancs in the Premier League, where ultimately it cost them the game? Any controversy involving the Mancs during a league game usually sees it favouring them rather than being against them.

" the harder i work the luckier i get"

MnaU believe and drive refs to believe. We just luck thankfull to be there and except what we're offered. We're soft and regardless of who plays for us will never win the league with the current nice guy approach. We need to be c**** like ManU

Generally agree that Mancs get the favorable call. To be honest I feel more cheated by our own approach to the game. I just wish we could drop the Champ League approach and go for it in the league a little more. Whether its due to lack of talent or Rafa's philosophy will never be answered until we have silky talent all over the pitch. Its painful watching the Mancs coz they r loaded with them. I can't help but feel we would have lost Masch or no Masch.

Ultimately bad ref calls will always happen and sadly they lean towards reigning champs. When we were continuously lifting the league I don't doubt similar comments were the order of the day in Manc pubs.

Didn't say that. Ref's know Slur would f***IN murder them in the dressing rooms while Rafa would walk on by all academic like tutuing the decision. They feel the pressure and it gets to them. Ferguson puts the s***s up them and in the heat of the moment buys his team about 15 points a season.

100%

Agreed.

They could have had a penalty for the foul on Rooney and Ronaldo was fouled a couple of times without getting a freekick.

We weren't robbed. Masch has only himself to blame and the players should be asking questions of themselves. I see a greater team spirit at the other top sides. Even Everton.

A combination of past success and a ginsoaked temperament I would say

after yesterday all i could keep thinking was why bother with football when it seems that so many other things affect whats going on other than the 22 players on trhe pitch

Sounds to me like the f'ckin refs. need to man up and tell the whisky-nosed c*nt to feck off then.

Problem solved.

Rafa needs to send his team out on the same advantage. That means priming the ref and letting him know he'll take him to the f***ing cleaners and drag ever wrong decision out as long as possible like slur did after pompy.

Rafa's too intellectual for this league. I'd love him to win the CL this season and then hand it over to someone else. This league isn't for him and by the time he's used to it Gerrard and Carra will need replacing and we can't afford that.

Just my take like.

what does that mean?

Ferguson has been saying s*** before, during and after games to get at refs for years and nothing serious has ever been done about it. His players as well as Arsenal and Chelsea's have surrounded refs for years, screamed in their faces and insulted them and nothing serious has been done about it. One of our players says "what happened" and gets sent off.

what really pisses me off is seeing what happened yesterday and then reading all the "holier than thou" s**** from the manc c**** as they try to take the moral high ground.

they have the mopst odious little t*** in Rooney who has made a living, and a reputation, out of disrespecting referees and being allowed to get away with it over the years. now, they have the gall to come out and have a go at " the boy" Mascherano for his reactions yesterday.

a manc associate of my wife called to gloat yesterday and I went off on him really badly. my wife went berserk and told me to call back and apologize. luckily he was out and I left a recorded message apology.

my loathing of the mancs has reached a new level.

aye, utter scum they are. Across all forums they have condemned said incident to a man. Can't wait till f***ing refs show some balls and send the likes of Shrek off for abuse etc. Though I very much doubt this will happen.

That's exactly the right level ;)

Totally agree. We're far too nice.

Fergie rips referees to shreds when he needs an advantage and it's worked for him for donkeys.

He ripped Martin Atkinson the other week and feck all was done to him. It was the same with Mourinho, like him or not, he knew how to play the psychological game and was able to use it to his advantage.

Rafa needs to plant a few more seeds into minds and if he does it on a regular basis, it'll start to have an impact over time. Much as i hate ferguson, he does this superbly and regularly reaps the rewards.

That's been the perfect solution for over a decade, but the problem is still not solved. The refs havent been able to 'man up' for whatever reason and continue failing to do so.

The most similar incident to yesterday's one, that the mancs were involved in, was when Rooney got a 2nd yellow for that sarcastic hand clap in the ref's face. Kim Milton Nielson sent him off and the mancs were up in arms.

Unfortunately, hardly any english refs stand upto Rooney's gob. If they started to, he'd either have to change, or miss about 20 games a season through suspension.

It's not the 'hardline' approach that annoys me, nor is it the fact that Mascherano was sent off. It's the fact that in a week or two, the hardline approach will be buried in the ground and we'll go back to normal. Rooney will continue to scream abuse at the ref from 2 inches away and Chelsea will continue to surround the ref en-masse. And neither will be reprimanded for it.

The problem isn't with the clubs or the refs.....it's with the FA. If they supported they're referees properly, then we wouldn't have this inconsistency. UEFA support their refs and they don't half the trouble.

I wouldnt argue with that. The FA dont have the balls to enforce things properly, because it means their England golden boys would be on a disrepute charge on a fortnightly basis.

So our only solution is to do what they do and learn how to play the system.
