  1. I meant that they weren't fully accepted into the society, but viewed as outsiders or not belonging...or some such thing....I've confused myself now, and I'm Jewish.
  2. I take your point about the discrimination being mainly in Europe, however, they may not have been so discriminated against in the Middle East, but they were viewed as a distinct group of people.
  3. Being Jewish is accepted as being a race and has been for centuries. I've always wondered whether this is as a result of centuries of being classed as a stateless people?
  4. I do have agree, but I have said it before: if United aren't very good, then it doesn't say an awful lot about the rest of the league.
  5. I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.
  6. Again, this is just obsession gone to far (I've said the same on Utd forums). I really do not understand this hatred of other clubs and fans. Some of you need to try getting a firm grip on reality.
  7. To be honest, Andy, I really can't be bothered. The reason is that I accept that mistakes are made and believe that is just part of the game. If you want to waste your time studying the decisions of referees in each Utd game and Liverpool game, knock yourself out, mate. Football is like most things in life, it changes on a regular basis; in the past Liverpool dominated everything, now it's Utd's turn and in a few years (or sooner) it's probably going to be another team's turn to rule the roost. Will I be blaming referees for my team's decline? No, I'll just accept it and continue enjoying watching football. Of course I'll get furious at Utd's performance's, I'll feel despair at times, but that's football. Andy, just sit back and enjoy the football this afternoon. I'll have a few cans while watching Liverpool and Chelsea and enjoying the football.
  8. Andy, decisions go for teams and go against them throughout the season. It just seems to me that you tend to remember them ones that effect Utd positively, while forgeting dodgy decisions that Utd don't get. I don't think officials are corrupt, although I except that it would be remarkable that if it only happened on the continent. I do think that they human beings are as such prone to errors. I also believe that the advent of Sky has allowed multiple views of the same incidents which the officials don't get. They have to analyse the information and make a decision at almost the same time and all that under extreme pressure. They know full well that everyone will question all their decisions no matter which one they make. I think that you really do need to give the officials a break. I know that I couldn't do my job with a couple of million people watching my every move and ready to pounce of every single error. Could do your job under those conditions? Finally, Andy; with your constant ranting and raving about 'corrupt' officials etc, you're beginning to sound more than slightly deranged and obsessive. There is no 'grand conspiracy', only human beings making all too human mistakes from time to time. When you can do your job to utter perfection each and every time, then you can criticise referees. Until then.....breath, relax and just enjoy football. Oh, and 'effective'? Yes, effective. Utd are top of the league at the moment, so I guess they are being 'effective'.
  9. Are Utd boring at the moment? Mostly yes, but they are effective and effective wins championships. If Utd are boring, then what does that say about the rest of the league? As has already been said; Utd don't score and sit back, they continue to attack. It's also worth baring in mind that if they are loosing 1-0, they don't give up, they keep attacking intelligently until the final whistle. Some of you guys criticise Utd for winning games late in the game itself - I'm sorry, but to do otherwise is to give up. Yes Utd can be boring, but that doesn't say a lot for the rest though, does it?
  10. Are Utd the playing attractive football? No they're not and they haven't been for several seasons, but they do enough to win. But then again, the rest of the league have been worse. So, Utd are the best of a poor group of teams.
  11. Ouch! That was a nasty little challenge from Brown. Foot in the air. Again; seen 'em given, seen 'em not.
  12. I've posted plenty of criticisms of Utd. PS - the Everton penalty appeal - there certainly was contact ie an arm on Lescott's shoulder, but that happens at every single corner in every single game. I really didn't see any pressure on his shoulder. Seen 'em given, seen 'em denied.
  13. I'd like to see some stats on that - genuinely I would. Are refs influenced by the ground and the crowd? I would hope not, but they are human beings and susceptible to all our normal failings. Through a season, I do believe that these things even themselves out though. These same human failings are the same for fans; biased, blinkered views that bare no relation to reality and a stubborn refusal to believe anything that goes against the ideals of their team. Like I said before; I'm a football fan first and a Utd fan second. It's that that allows me to be a member of this site and actually learn (some of you are very knowledgeable about football and I enjoy reading your posts). Again the reason I'm not on any Utd fan sites is because I put football first and to most Utd fans that is heresey - as it is for Liverpool fans. But on a Liverpool site I don't get banned for voicing criticisms about Utd.
