Is he the best in the world? He goes 10 maybe 20 games without having to make a proper save and he goes and makes one like that to deny Davies. Outstanding goalkeeper and I definitely would not trade him for any keeper in the world. I have so much confidence in him I just take it for granted he will be there when needed. Rafa's best buy.

He's the best keeper in the league no doubt.

Even Craig "f***ing" Burley admitted that it was a great save from him againt Bolton!

That was one of the saves of the season IMO

In my opinion, he's the best in the world.

I like Casillias, but it's a surprise that he's still number 1 ahead of Pepe.

great keeper and save from davies was amazing

not sure if its criticism of him or our defence or defence set up though but we defend too deep on set pieces

diouf free kick yesterday was poorly defended yesterday

also according to match of the day we have conceded 13 out of 20 goals conceded (numbers approx as can't remember) from set pieces. shows how strong we are in general play

generally i think we are a bit weak/vulnerable on set pieces and not very threatening on our own which is probably something that can be improved on training ground

How many of the 13 were penalties?

Given the opportunity Reina is as good a shot stopper as Casiilas. The fact is that he very rarely gets to make a save because Mascherano wins the majority of balls in the area that people make shots on goals. So in the end we should get rid of mascherano to give Reina he chance to show us what a good shot stopper he is.

erm, what about Cech?

he is the best keeper in the league since, dare I say it, Rudolf...

Reina is good, very good but Cech is better...

I blame Parry for not signing him....

Have you seen Cech playing in the past 12 months? He's a very good goalie, much better than most in this league, but I really don't think he's that extra special anymore. He's more prone to mistakes and just isn't as assured as he once was.

yep, maybe Cech's form since he was injured dipped a bit and he has made a couple of errors along that way but from what i have seen of him in the past 6 games or so, especially the cup final, he's getting back to where he was.

His all round game is just much better than anyone else's playing in the league at the moment. It's a shame he's playing for a team of cockney chav c****.....

I dont get the Casillas thing either. if ever there was a player who was though great cos of who he played for it's him. He's good but not great....to be fair, he's not even the best kepper at the club

Try watching Real's games on a regular basis.

He's absolutely fantastic and was one of the key reasons they won the league last season.

I believe that since Cech's injury Reina has moved ahead of him and is now the best in the country, and I wouldn't argue against anyone saying he's the best in the world.

I think what makes him so good is how be sniffs out danger before it even happens. He is so quick out of his goal it looks like a regulation block on a one on one, but any other keeper would perhaps be 2/3/4 yards further back meaning there's more to do, so when it comes off it looks better. How often to do you see Reina make a save where he blocks a strike from a couple of yards away?

His distribution is excellent as well, and he is so comfortable on the deck that he gives the team an added edge in that way. Reina get's as many assists as some outfield players!!

Whilst other keepers make lots of spectacular saves, I genuinely believe Reina would often have still made the save, but would have made it look easy - which is the sign of true class.

I'm not saying he's necessarily the best, but I can honestly say I would not swap him for anyone in the world - bar none!!

I watch them regularly, I've watch him through his career and rate him as one of the best 4 keepers in the world along with Reina, Cech and Buffon - but he has weeknesses aswell as amazing shot stopping. There is a lot about Reina that is easily above his.

His positioning is exceptional. It really is. Rarely has to dive because he's almost always standing in the right spot and his footwork is fast enough to allow him to move seamlessly across the goal. None of the 'headline saves' unless they're really, really required.

Reina is the anti Given.

Is he still criminally underrated by fans of other clubs?

I rarely talk to them

Yes. Although I think the penny seems to have dropped that he's alright when facing penalties.

I dont disagree with that, but still believe that Casilias is marginally better.

He nearly cost us a goal yesterday when he booted it straight to the bolton player. (Dodgy pass back yes but he still should have dealt with it) I still think pound for pound he is the best in the league tho.

Also the Cech thing, he is rubbish at penalties, and hasn't look good with the ball coming in the air since the injury.

Two of the best keepers in the league are both ex Liverpool players, James and Freidal. Once they got out of Corrigans clutches they turned out great.
