According to Martin Tyler's column on Sky Sports, following Torres treble against Middlesborough on Saturday, Liverpool are the first team to score hattricks in the Premiership, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup in the same season.

Scorings improved, but now we have to learn to get those vital goals eg the ones that take you from 1-0 up to 2-0 up and win you the game

"Premiership"

sorry, it just grates when stats are derived from when the Premier League started.

And when the CL started as well.

We should revert back to "Division One" and "European Cup".

So who are they?

Premiership - Torres vs Middlesbrough

FA Cup - Benayoun vs Havant and Waterlooville and Gerrard vs Luton

League Cup - Torres vs Reading

European Cup - Benayoun vs Besiktas

Does 1-0 not win the game any more then?

When was this rule changed?

We seem to have forgotten how to win 1-0 though. Its either 1-1 or we get a few. I don't think we've won a league game 1-0 this season.

You could say that, but the Houllier route of holding on to the 1-0 lead is imo an equally effective approach. Think we went something like 2 years without losing once we took the lead under him.

A far more dull stat from the Houllier era was that we won very very few games once we fell behind.

On the offal now:

It is something that not even the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, given all their European escapades over the past two decades, can claim to have achieved.

:D

This season it seems when we're 1-0 up the game ends in a draw

Just to end any kind of speculation about this. :)

When we go 1-0 up this is how the matches have ended under Rafa.

127 matches: 110 wins, 13 draws, 4 losses - 295-69 goaldifference.
