Guest Budo Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 What a load of tripe!!! How much are these so called "top professionals" on ? They might as well sell it off to Asia and Middle East, because no Brit in his right mind is going to pay ever increasing prices for sh*te like that! Football is dead - Official!
Guest Ant Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I don't care what you say Arsenal play the best football in the league and have done for many years.
MFletcher Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Very Newcastle... if we're passing the ball around in pretty triangles then the result doesn't matter. Bring back Keegan. He's the man to entertain the crowd.
Guest Budo Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I don't care what you say Arsenal play the best football in the league and have done for many years. Yeah, they make the rest of the Prem look like a bunch of half-hearted, talentless, money grabbing ****'s! ...Hang on!
Jim D Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I don't care what you say Arsenal play the best football in the league and have done for many years. Despite all their pretty football they have won nothing since 2005, a VERY fortunate win in the Cup Final against the Mancs.

You've got players that are playing for the shirt, the club and their manager. Rare these days. Edited February 10, 2008 by Budo
Guest Ant Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Despite all their pretty football they have won nothing since 2005, a VERY fortunate win in the Cup Final against the Mancs. Maybe the fact they have been in a period of transition has allowed for such limited success.

Indeed but so have we under Rafa and during that time Rafa has brought home the biggest prize European football can offer and the FA Cup. I find it amazing that despite us not winning the League for so long that we as a club have always remained competitive at the top level of football. Edited February 10, 2008 by Jim D
floyd Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Arsenal played defensive football to their one and only European Cup Final.
MFletcher Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Maybe the fact they have been in a period of transition has allowed for such limited success. One questions whether some of our supporters would accept such a period of transition in preparation for future success. I suspect more would go apes***, claim the manager should be sacked as "we want the league" and we'd be back to square one.

Rare these days. Aye lets end the season now and award Arsenal the title since they play nice football I personally feel we should be awarded the 1989 league championship, we played far better football that season than George Graham's boring "1-0" to the Arsenal side. Dan Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Maybe the fact they have been in a period of transition has allowed for such limited success. We won a European and FA Cup in a "transition period".

Redwire Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I suspect more would go apes***, claim the manager should be sacked as "we want the league" and we'd be back to square one. Of course many would. One poster in this thread has already done all that.
Magic8Ball Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 (edited) What a load of tripe!!! How much are these so called "top professionals" on ? They might as well sell it off to Asia and Middle East, because no Brit in his right mind is going to pay ever increasing prices for sh*te like that! Football is dead - Official!I often think that! But today I saw something different, I saw a team that had a clever idea how to play football, but lacked the players capable of executing those ideas. The midfield 3 looked good even though Gerrard had a poor game - possession at the back was assured and the ball wasnt hoofed up ( Skrtel shows how much we've missed Agger - cant wait to see Skrtel and Agger together in defense). What we lacked was a Robbie Fowler a Trezeguet - Crouch could have had a hattrick !! But Crouch showed why he's valued at <=7m and not 15M+ - for a 6ft 7 striker he just can't head the ball. That being said, his movement was way better today. On a different note: I love the way Anelka pulls out wide to the right and to the left - he would have been idea for Torres Edited February 10, 2008 by Magic8Ball
John am Rhein Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Football is dead - Official! First music, now football.
mick Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 For the neutral probably yes - without a doubt. Mancs and Arsenal play very good football - it all comes from coaching on the training ground and a vision of how the game should be played. Our game today was terrible to watch.

Behind Enemy Lines Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 For the neutral ..no such thing. A concept created by sky - personally I look at every match & think what outcome is best for LFC, or which are the bigger bunch of w@nkers ect.
Behind Enemy Lines Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Well watch f***ing Eastenders thenCorrect - football in NOT entertainment
Cooger Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 As long as we have Kuyt upfront, Carragher and Riise hoofing the ball upfield at any opportunity, then we aren't going to see attractive football. We should be used to it by now as we haven't played 'entertaining' football since the Evans era. Until we have better wingers and a decent partner for Torres, maybe even some more attacking fullbacks then I can't see our 'brand' of football improving.

I'm simply pointing out that we've not been great to watch for a good while now, this is hardly anything new. I'd rather see us win than play attractive football and lose.
