Mike Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 has the manager rotated the entire squad out of form? i think so.
Knox_Harrington Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Thought you were going to be a man then. Rotation is too simple; he hasn't answered the questions thrown up by injuries.
Mike Posted October 24, 2007 Author Posted October 24, 2007 i don't think it is. not one player in our team is playing well. can't go on mate.ill be the man if you like...
abc Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 (edited) Crouchy should be starting more games especially now that Torres has been out. Babel and Benayoun should be playing more often, and Momo should be rotated within the reserves. And we still don't have enough pace or skill on the ball, and a combination of both in the team. Knox_Harrington Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 i don't think it is. not one player in our team is playing well. can't go on mate.ill be the man if you like...Benayoun looks consistently bright as a button when he gets on. Alonso went out injured and we really haven't had a Plan B for that eventuality. Torres doesn't play. No Plan B there either.
Stevie H Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 you've been waiting f***ing months to use 'rafarendum' haven't you?
Cheesecake Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Quite why using Torres pace and Crouchs height together hasnt been the mainstay I dont know Its not like it offer us the use of a ball thru the defence (to Torres) or a lump forward (to Crouch) is alien to our play
Eskimo Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Don't think its rotation or the manager.....I do however think we need to clear out some of the, dare I say it, deadwood.
Mike Posted October 24, 2007 Author Posted October 24, 2007 you've been waiting f***ing months to use 'rafarendum' haven't you? s'good innit. come on
Knox_Harrington Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Don't think its rotation or the manager.....I do however think we need to clear out some of the, dare I say it, deadwood. Then it's the manager, isn't it? The squad's almost there. A fit Kewell would make a massive difference, but in real terms the potential is pretty much there. There's been enough from everyone (and I even include Yon) in it over the last two seasons to be able to see what they could contribute if harnessed correctly.

Jay Blizzay Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Saw his interview on Sky Sports after the game, first time I've seen that look in Rafa's face. Not one who says things with a smile and keeps the reporter second guessing, but he almost seemed defiant till the gullotine comes down on his neck. I feel sorry for the guy...lost a good friend and close personal aid who had been by his side 10 years...thats like cutting your right arm off. Lost essentially the spine of the team in Agger, Alonso and Torres. I initiall raised eyebrows when he was sat with Babel and Benayoun next to him in a press conference and said 'Last time I said we needed wingers, now we have wingers' Dunno about you lot, but I was thinking WTF Benayoun has been great for us, and needs to start every game as far as im concerned. Babel needs to stop running into opposition players, but on the whole, at least tried to stretch the game...think he will come good. I trust Rafa to get it right, and am not too bothered about what he says to the press, let them have their field day, dont really give a f***. He is taking the pressure off the players, who, quite frankly, have been utter s****.

The squad "is" almost there but IMO we are still missing key components and it really shows especially when the likes of Xabi, Agger and Torres are unavailable. Granted when those 3 are fit and playing our problems are less obvious but they are still there.

Eskimo Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 With a bit of fitness what's missing is far less obvious and every side in the top four is still short of something. aye that's what I said in the last sentence
Stevie H Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 With a bit of fitness what's missing is far less obvious and every side in the top four is still short of something.no, they've all got much better get out of jail cards than we have and they, specifically arsenal and manyoo, have got managers who know how to win the english league. arsenal, manyoo and chelsea don't look short of much at the minute. we look way short in every department.
crisps Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 (edited) Crouch, Voronin, Sissoko, Pennant = squad players at best, best getting rid reina, gerrard, carra, agger, mascherano, torres, alonso = key players lucas, babel, benayoun, arbeloa = promising/important players Kuyt, Riise, Finnan = perhaps should be looking for better then there's aurelio and kewell who're always injured Basically i think we need rid of the 4, the injured two and like I've said look at replacing the could do betters but that's not quite as urgent.we seriously need to be looking at new RB/LB, CB, a winger, a forward and a striker! I think we're very Far away from a title winning team. Edited October 24, 2007 by crisps

I don't think there's a massive difference in the cards themselves. Agree on the English league point. We look short in every department because of form, not ability. As I said, the squad is almost there. It's how it's being used that frustrates.
Earl Hafler Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 has the manager rotated the entire squad out of form? i think so. You said it wasn't rotation.

mooks Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Crouch, Voronin, Sissoko, Pennant = squad players at best, best getting ridWhy would we want to get rid of squad players?
downunder Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 (edited) We are almost there but what we have should be enough to win the league. Man Utd last season, everyone said didn't have a good enough squad but they still won it. What we need is our players playing to their ability and we are fine. It's not the personnel that is the issue, it's the (current)form of the players and the manager (his form in team selection). I hate forums after a few dodgy results, everyone goes OTT. I dread to think what this place would have been like on Boxing Day 1981!!! Edited October 25, 2007 by downunder
