Why not, I think someone like Phil Thompson is exactly what we need to get to fullfill our ambitions in the league, he knows what its all about, and his committment to the cause is second to noone the way I see it.

 

If anyone, I think Thompson is the right man to get the boys fighting when thats needed, and this fighting spirit is something I think we have lacked in the league since Rafa arrived.

 

Remember he had pretty decent results when he was in charge when GH was out with his heart problems, in fact they were great, PT is the man. ;)

Well personally I think Rafa needs input from someone with experiance from the PL since I think he needs someone to challenge his view about whats needed to get enough points away from home to win the league, its not good enough to try to control the game and then nick the win, you`ll have to go for it.

 

Phil Thompson, a man who has 7 league titles to his name as a player, and 2 league titles as the number two under Dalglish, along with experiance as number two under both Evans and Houllier can be this man for me.

 

We all know that he love this club as much as anyone, he is a former captain, League winner, European Cup winner and FA Cup winner, he has stayed in touch with the game through his punditry on SKY and we all know that Phil Thompson is the one we feel speaks most sense alongside Dalglish when it comes to us on TV.

 

For some reason I cant see Kenny coming back being Rafa`s assistant, but I have a feeling Thompson would absolutely love it.

 

If not lets get Redders in and let him learn from Rafa, he is the one former player from the last 20 years I can see as our future manager, he just needs to start getting the experiance.

So after three full seasons in charge from Rafa, you dont think people should be able to make up their mind about something that could help us take a step forward.

 

To bring in someone with more experiance from the PL has been seen as a solution in some quarters for ages to help us overcome some of our problems away from home.
