i want to go to Europe away, and yet i can get a ticket because they only went to people who managed to go to an away game last year.

I can't get a Euro away cos I'm babysitting a seaso with no credits on it, yet I've been offered a ticket for Porto cos some with credits have bought tickets with no intention of going so as to get more credits, yet I'm the one forking out for the trip.

A) As no-one can ever break into the loop of getting tickets especially as....

 

B) If "loyal" fans can't make it, they still buy tickets and sell them to friends, while still topping up their loyalty.

Loyalty should be judged on attendance and not by the purchasing of tickets.

correct. i am now prevented from watching liverpool away for ever becuase i havent joined the elevated membership of our away supporters club, years ago, despite wanting to.

 

at the end of every season all loyalty should be wiped clean, and then loyalty should be built up during the season, and those people should be given priority for the next games. this is what happens with all of our home games, but not aways. I can now never, ever in my lifetime go and watch liverpool away in europe. that cant be right.

Jesus christ, not going overboard or anything are you? You could of gone with no credits last season.

 

And if you're only bothered about seeing the game then theres plenty of spares for right or wrong reasons.

Don't be ridiculous, I got a face value ticket for Benfica away on the afternoon of the match.

This issue has come about because of the champions league final and is only really significant for european aways atm.

 

That loyalty never used to carry...

The club are in something of a no win on this I think.

I agree with a loyalty system but this one is just being abused like crazy.

 

its not just the champs league though. i want to go to every game home and away in every comp. i am having the same problems there as well. i cant go to an away match, becuase unless you went a couple of years ago then there is no chance of getting them. and there will never ever be a chance of getting one again. granted i get lucky with the odd one so ultimately i will get loyalty. however the scheme now makes it possible in theory for no other fans ever to get tickets for away games apart from the ones who go now. its nonsense.

For CL home games I think it's right there is no loyalty from previous seasons. For one reason or another people who've been to tons of games last year may not have credits reserved on a fancard or at least not enough, so they'd miss out. Like me, I went to 5 CL home games last year, but only had 2 recorded on my fancard, whilst someone who just bought tickets for loyalty could have been to just the glamour ties of Chelsea and Barca but still have 5/6 credits.

 

It's not like it's gonna be a mad rush in the style of the CL final, there's no PTS for CL so there should be a larger batch on general sale, if you're that bothered about going you'll get online/phones/to the ground and get one easy.

 

I also think tickets for euro aways should be handed out at the TO's at the away ground.
