I've started up a petition to UEFA and Platini about their ticketing policy. What do people reckon, is it worth trying to get going? I reckon potentially a hell of a lot of people would want to sign this - fans of all clubs all over the UK and even in Europe.

Petition

If people think it's a silly idea no problem. If you think it's worth getting going put it up on other forums and send it to football supporters you know, whatever their club. If anyone has any suggestions as to changes to the text etc as well let me know.

Just thought it might be an idea to let UEFA know how strongly people feel about this. I'll manage it if people think it's worth trying.

Signed it Leo. Not sure what good it will do in the long run, but have signed it in the hope that it does.

Signed it aswell.

Ironic that there was a google ad alongside for some damned ticket touts selling final tickets for 1250 quid.

You could look at it another way - and that is you don't have to look far for supporting evidence! People everywhere are looking to rip us off on the final tickets, no doubt obtained from 'The UEFA Family'.

Nice one everyone for signing it - I've never felt angry enough about anything to do something like this before but I've seen them get on the news etc if they get a lot of signatures and it at least could be a public gesture so it's worth a go.

Was never in for a ticket, and i dont know how much can be gained from these petitions. But the reasons behind it are right and i have signed it.

perhaps a protest/boycott to/of Heineken, Sony, PS3, Mastercard, VISA, Ford et al wouldn't go amiss either.....

Boycotting mastercard and visa would cause me significant paying for stuff issues.

Signed. Like others, I don't know what good it'll do but wrongs have to be addressed.

I tried to look at it from a neutral point of view and what I think they are trying to do is what the FA try to do with "their" cup; ie, make it an event for the UEFA "family". That might have worked in the olden days when there was a possibilty of say, Stauea Bucharest V Dinamo Kiev in the final but now the dice are loaded, it's always going to be Big Club with Lots of Fans A V Big Club with Lots of Fans B and so the principle is outdated and outmoded. The fans of the participating clubs HAVE to take priority, simple as that.

I don't understand how 'the UEFA family' can be allocated more tickets than our fans. Who the heck is the UEFA family, and why have they been given such a huge allocation of tickets for the final?

The "UEFA Family" is a euphemism. What they really mean is "the sponsors".......

I have signed.

Well done, son :)

I nearly paid them $10, that was a close one. Frantic use of the "back" button. :o

Thanks all.

I've emailed the club to ask if they'll put this on the offal.

It's a long shot I know, but I thought they may go for it as it'd be deflecting criticism from the club's poor handling of the ballot over to UEFA...

not ironic, but sweet revenge, they are google sponsored links that the advertisers pay for....click away my friends, click away....drive their profits down by increasing their advertising costs!
