Gunga Din Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 if we get to the final it depends who we are playing on whether or not i will stay in Athens. if we get there and its the Mancs, i'll stay outside Greece, and get the train in and out
Molby Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Any recommendations people? Struggling to find any flights under £400. likewise if we get there I'll settle for an £800 3 night package deal from Liverpool or Manc the place we ended up in in Istanbul was fine - and they had something called a 'Chelsea Knockout Cocktail' if we get to the final it depends who we are playing on whether or not i will stay in Athens. if we get there and its the Mancs, i'll stay outside Greece, and get the train in and out like where? Turkey? big train ride it'll be like Lawrence of Arabia or something

Albania might be another option too or get a package deal to one of the islands and get the ferry across

jon_hall Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 The fact that this is the start of the holiday season, 6 months ago you could barely get a flight for less then £250 and that was connecting via wherever.
Frosty Jack Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 flights from milan have rocketed too unsurprisingly, i might do it by train
Guest LittleMark Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 The fact that this is the start of the holiday season, 6 months ago you could barely get a flight for less then £250 and that was connecting via wherever. Your not looking in the right places as usual Hall

Molby Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 All the money in the world wouldnt pay me to stay in that s*** hole!! Is that 'cos of Michael Shields? you should get together with Dee on her cherry tomato crusade with your undoubted insight in to how the world works I'm sure you'd achieve major results i'm also giving serious thought to that, if it comes to it and you fancy training it, give me a shout but then you need to go to Milan first

Ben 23 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 are you a: femaleb: good at sailing and or rowing? Both...
Molby Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 are you a: femaleb: good at sailing and or rowing? I am none of these things but you'll need a purser and an interpreter; I can fulfill both functions
Frosty Jack Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 i'm also giving serious thought to that, if it comes to it and you fancy training it, give me a shout Looking at it, best way for me is probably train to Bari then ferry to Athens (train through the balkans would be cool when you don't have a european cup final to catch)
Redwire Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Trains in Greece are the slowest in the world. I once went from Athens to Budapest on a Greek train and it took about three weeks * * I may be exaggerating somewhat here but not by much
