It seemed deathly quiet where I was (Upper Centenary, against the wall at the Kop end). I even had the misfortune to actually see a person wearing a jester hat. /o\ Hardly heard any noise, and I'm far too much of a shrinking violet to start any myself.

I'll raise you one on that Rico. A fella with a jester hat that still had the price tag on.

It was almost like he was proud.

Gutted that Pennant didn't look up and square the ball to crouch late on as a tap in there wouldve put Crouch joint top scorer in the European cup - who'd have imagined eh?

Still, did all we needed to do and hopefully bellamy is back quickly.

Hardly any noise?

I assume you are extracting the urine?

That sustained La Bamba in the first half was one of the loudest examples of Kop chanting/singing/clapping I've ever heard. Very very impressive, especially given the game's circumstances. The PSV fans were clapping in approval.

The Upper Centenary is always very quiet, mainly due to the large element of corporate hospitality guests "Actually Nigel supports Manchester United, ha ha!" ;)

Most of these people also arrive back in their seats late after half time, because it is impossible to fight your way back down to the hospitality lounge, get a cup of hot coffee, drink it, and get back up again in 15 minutes.

'Spot the ligger post' if ever there was one. Got back 20 mins ago. Great noise Terrific FOAR, La Bamba and 5 times especially. Easy stroll for the lads - Pennant really beginning to find himself in this team. Funniest thing was Alvaro, who had sod all to do running everywhere to try and get involved..sure he was shouting the Spanish equivalent of 'Ah, go 'ead - giz a kick!'

Seemed proper quiet in the 2nd half compared to the 1st.

La Bamba was class and kept us entertained for a boring part of the 1st half.

PSV fans were class too and took their obvious defeat in good spirits and looked like they were having fun.

Chelsea in the 2nd leg will be 10x better though.

And he arrived late as well.

The crowd sounded superb on the telly great to see Rafa do a quick round of applause for la Bamba whilst doing his usual gesticulations on the side of the pitch.

Was it the PSV fans that sang in the second half 'You only sing when your winning'? Quality bit that

Well done everyone that went :D

As said in the opening post, Pennant was class and it's great to see him running at players with confidence. It looks to me that he now sees himself as a proper part of the club and we are starting to reap the benefits.

Also, Alonso had one of his best passing displays I'd seen in a while. He was picking out the easy, yet intelligent pass time and time again, and I think Pennants willingness to get into those attacking spaces on the flank helped Xabi also.

My only sour part was where I was sat. My mate booked the tickets and told me that we were in the Lower Anfield Road end. I told him that this was the only place I'd never been in Anfield and so I was quite looking forward to it. I didn't notice the "Severely restricted view" note in tiny print at the bottom of the ticket. I was 1 row from the back so when the people stood up in front of me, I had to stand up and then all I could see was about a roof and about 20 yard strip of the pitch in front of me. When we were sat down it was fine, but in the 2nd half when they were attacking our end, any time we got near the goal, every f***** would stand up and we couldn't see a thing. Never again will I sit there. I was looking over in a silent jealous rage at the lucky sods in the Kop stood up and singing. The long lasting "La Bamba" was great, buit we were all stood up for it so when I sat down I had to look over at the score board (This meant bending down and looking between the arses of the people in front of me) to see if the score had changed!

I love standing on the European Nights and hate the people who shout 'Sit down' but I was tempted on a number of occasions to shout this myself. All in all I'd say I say about 50 minutes of the match. I only say the Crouch goal back in the Sandon later that evening.
