I said this last night - imagine if you'd have told Crouch about 4 years ago when he'd been f*cked off by the likes of Villa and Spurs and struggled to make an impact at about 5 average clubs, that he'd be playing in a Champions League semi final and be in with a chance of Champions League top goalscorer a few years later.

 

It's quite a story; ridiculed for his freakish height, rejected over and over again only to be given a chance by a wise old Spanish bloke everyone said must be crazy, then repay his faith by reaching the pinnacle of the game with a historic club and end up with an extremely fit if completely nutty bird who drove him mad.

 

I think a film should be made, it's a proper Hollywood rags to riches story: 'Crouching Crouch, Hidden Crouch'. Cheech Marin to play Benitez, the bloke from Andre the Giant to play the starring role. Ricky Tomlinson to play David Moores and say 'my a***' when Rafa asks him for the money to buy Crouch.
